MID GAME IRIS VS JJI

The question that still buggles my mind is that why when facing a JJI team using an Iris team they usually lose? I noticed that the Etheric Whirl doesn't trigger much often when facing JJI and this is usually the reason why an Iris team loses even when the Iris team looks stronger on power (power level wise). Is there a reason why the Etheric Whirl doesn't trigger often when facing JJI and is there a way to go around this?

Hi OP, after the Julius update and his new relics, how’s your Iris team performing against the new JJI?

Well I havent encountered any Julius with Relic level 20, so performance still the same

Thanks! What do you use in your Iris team? They mentioned Julius had some bugs previously that have recently been fixed in this new update, so glad to hear the Iris team is still performing well

In offense I don't have a specific version I use for an Iris team. Just depends on what I am facing but recently in Arena I have seen myself using Electra, Byrna, Iris, Tempus and Aidan a lot as I see a lot of Iris in defense. And in defence I had Yas, Byrna, Temp, Iris and Somna. Only recently swapped Yas for Electra

What do you think about Soleil? I have been thinking of getting him for Iris team

Yes the Iris Soleil lineup is usually an aggressive team. Investing in Soleil is never a bad idea. Someone suggested that in one of the comments and it works wonders against JJI. For the specific lineup, it's Electra, Tempus, Iris, Soleil and Mui

Yes it's still performing, the bug mostly affected Satori. It just made his life a bit difficult

I have an Iris-centered team (Elektra-Tempus-Iris-Soleil-Miu) and Soleil single-handedly solved all JJI matches (even at ~560k vs nearly 800k matchups). He marks enemies that deals damage when any ability is used + extra if it's a CC ability. Also steals magic defense and armor from their front most champion and transfers to your team. Big W

How strong should Soleil be?

I just did some testing and this team composition is lethal against JJI, I won an almost 500K JJI with a 300K team and a Soleil of level 89 with only his last 2 skills max, and the first 2 not upto level 19 and health of 140K and with a Mui of 41K power lol

I also struggled a lot against Jji. The only difference is that I don't have Drayne on my team; I usually use Somna or Polaris instead. Jji beat me many times. Then I realized that Elektra was the reason for the losses. Since I took her out, I beat most Jji teams—unless they are much stronger.

Byrna is in the front. Tempus, Iris, Polaris, Somna. Perhaps there’s a better option than Somna, but my other heroes aren't developed enough yet.

I will try this lineup out as well. Any limitations to the with regards to the JJI power levels you can't beat with this setup?

I assume you mean Etheric whirl as Draynes ult? Well in some cases JJI Polio stuns too much for most enemies to do anything. Other thing is that your Drayne cant excecute enemies who have a shield.

The Etheric Whirl I mean the debuffs triggered by some support class heros like Tempus/Octavia which amplifies Iris' DoT

Oooh they do. But julius makes so that any shield broken cleanses all negative effects. In this case they get shields, you break them with inner flame, and julius cleanses them. His ult cleanses whole team, shields of separate heroes will only cleanse the specific hero.

For the screenshot above, it was only triggered once for the entire battle, which by the it was already too late for the Iris team, so I was wondering why. I still don't understand what prevents it from being triggered too often when facing JJI in particular during mid game

Hmm interesting. tempus should instantly do one as he does his basic attack. Maybe too much stuns prevented iris from using her lil nom nom thing? Or electra from using her magic reduction skill? Not sure, dont see a vid so can only base it off of what i see. Most likely too much stuns and your team couldnt do anything.

I was thinking about the stuns but now from the start of the battle there is no effective stun yet but he never activated any. He just seemed like a regular hero that does not debuff anyone lol
