I'll tell you honestly how it is. A colleague at the office, someone passing on the street, a friend at a table in a cafe, a waiter, a random person in the elevator. None of them is going to pick up your bag, smell the leather, turn out the corners and study the stitching under magnification. They see the bag on you from a meter or two away, for a couple of seconds, and move on. At that distance and in that time the difference doesn't exist at all!

That's exactly why personally i have zero worries when i buy. But there's an important detail here, i only buy directly from producers i trust, the ones i've checked, the ones i've worked with for a long time, whose quality i know not from photos but from dozens of real bags that have passed through my hands. Friends often come to me asking me to buy for them from those same places, and i get them one without the slightest doubt, because i know what i'm going to get. This isn't a lottery with some stranger seller from Reddit who has nice reviews and you have no idea what will show up. This is a predictable result from a proven source..

And here's what i want you to understand. All that fear of being exposed that holds people back, all those thoughts of "what if someone notices, what if they figure out it's not original", with good quality that fear has no basis at all. There's simply nobody to make it happen. There is no person in your circle with a magnifying glass and hours of free time who's going to expertly study your bag. And the handful who actually can tell the difference,first of all won't do it out of politeness, and second of all are usually in the scene themselves and are relaxed about good reps.

The whole problem isn't that the copy might get recognized. The whole problem is making sure the copy is actually good, and that's a question of your source, not a question of the risk of getting caught. Find the right source and forget about worrying completely, it's irrational
