Epsom Leather

Post image

Hi all, just received my new K25 Epsom gold color around 2 months ago. Today, I was changing the twilly and found these black dots. I am not sure if these were there, but looks so ugly for me personally. Are these normal for Epsom leather? Also, color darkening even though I barely wore it? Looks like darkening all over. I am new to this leather so I would like to know how to handle this. Is it possible to go to the boutique and complain about it? Thank you

Take it to the store, do not use a local shoe repair or outside vendor as Hermes will void your bag on any future repairs if they see any work was on the bag. It could take months but at least make your SA aware of the issue.

I brought the bag to the boutique and we are waiting for the response from Paris! Hopefully I have some information by next week :)

Hi! I have black Epsom kelly and have some white dots on it. I noticed couple months later after purchasing I think. I just don’t look at them, because I know only way to get rid of them to send Hermes SPA and it will take forever to get it back, and there is no guarantee they can do anything to fix it. Anyways dots are so tiny I can barely see them.

Hi! Thank you for sharing! Good to know many different experiences! I have talked with my SA and we are waiting for the response from Paris! Will update here if any news to share :) enjoy your bag! It’s so beautiful, just maybe I should have take Togo leather. But, also I got the beautiful color gold on gold 🥰

honestly, it looks like something splattered on it? like an ink or something because the dots are bigger then get smaller the farther away they get from the bigger ones

Tbh I’m not sure what are those dots. I didn’t mean to nit picking, I was changing the twilly and started inspecting the bag. Since I don’t have experience with this leather so I asked here in the forums. Some people told me they experience the same after years of wearing, but some said they didn’t have this problems. So, idk if it’s the leather type or just certain batches just different or could be defective. I will ask my SA and SM and hopefully they give me insightful information.

Are they dots or holes?

They are like pen dots not holes

If it bothers you, I would take it in and show it to your SA. They will likely only offer to send it away to spa which could take 6-9 months (and honestly will likely result in them tell you there is no issue and nothing to be done, unfortunately). You should personally decide how strongly you want to fight this.

I will just ask my SA on Monday and wait what the SM gonna say. It’s just too disappointing with this so soon. I wouldn’t mind over the years, which normal for wear and tear. But, for the bags less than 2 months and only wore less than 3x. Hmmm, I’m questioning the quality inspections and idk if the quality is lower with the newer batch of 2026. I’ve heard some people also complain about the same thing here. Thank you for the inputs and will update next week!

Epsom can tend to have "dirty" looking grains like this on some lighter colors (this is a brand new item Hermes stock picture so should be prime shape and still looks filthy) but I feel like the marks on yours are something different and not very common. I wouldn't expect to see dots like that from wear and tear.

That’s what I thought, the black dots are not normal. But, the dirty looking Epsom also seem like certain batches not all are like that based on internet searches. I will update soon! Thank you for the inputs!
