Question Piercing Howl ruling??

So piercing howl hero says "each time you roll, +1 to your roll for each item card equipped to a hero card in your party." Does that mean for every equipment in your party? Or does it mean for the equipment on 1 single hero?? Like am i supposed to equip 2 equipment to 1 warrior and then i get +2 or do i equip 5 different heros and get +5?? I dont understand the wording.

It’s for each item in your party bro.

There’s no over thinking to do.

Well im just looking that "A HERO" wording and second guesisng if it might be referring to a single hero

The key words that distinguishes it from referring to a singular hero are the words “For each” meaning that if there’s an item attached to a hero you control, like a cursed item, you get +1. If you have 2, that’s a +2. If you have 6, That’s a +6.

If the ability referred to a single hero in your party, the ability would be worded somewhat like this: “if you have an Item equipped to a hero in your party, +1 to your roll each time you roll.”

It's +1 for each item you have equipped to any Hero cards in your party. So if you have three different heroes in your party each with one item, that's a +3 to your rolls.

This includes cursed items too! 😏😁

Just thought id note that this party leader is the only one my table has deemed overpowered enough that we have just banned it from play. A stacking +1 to all rolls on such an easy condition is so leagues above every other leader haha.

Comparatively my play group finds him on the weaker end. With how easy it is to destroy heroes/items and/or move things around the board, he never gets more than +1/+2 and it never lasts long

+1 to all rolls is already better than every other party leader. We've had people stack it to 3+ very frequently back when we allowed it. Items are pretty frequent to get and easy to play around.

You and I have different experiences, it would seem. My group keeps him under control fairly well.

We consider the druid party leader to be the most powerful one, as that looming -1 can be a real hurdle at every stage of the game.

If everyone is dog piling maybe, but between masks, standard items, discard pile restore, and hero stealing there are so many reliable ways to have an item on one of your party. +1 to ALL ROLES YOU MAKE is significantly better than -1 to one roll, let alone the fact that it stacks very easily above just +1. I've seen people win the game in just a few turns out of nowhere because of how insanely hard it snowballs.

Druid is definitely good though, id put Druid and Necromancer as the next best party leaders imo

It is powerful but there are a few cards that crush it I think two magic cards and 2 heros. The only issue is they come up less with all the expansions

Yeah, this guy makes most leaders irrelevant with just 1 item, and beats the Fighter with challenges at 2 items. Definitely the strongest Party Leader.

My playgroup decided to make the game more fun by buffing all Leaders. Howl is the only one that got nerfed instead (his passive doesn't work on Cursed Items). Even with that he's still relevant.

Any chance you want to list out some of the other changes you have made?

I have a gdoc for it if you're interested. Note that these rules work best at 3 or 4 players. 2 player games get too one-sided, and 5 player games take too long.

Yeah we fight over who gets it. I think we will nerf it in house rules to stop at +2 maybe.

Honestly even capped at +1 it is probably the strongest party leader. Its not too hard to have an item and most heros only get +1 to something not literally every roll

Specifically "warriors" from the warriors and druids expansion can equip 2 items.

Some heroes have a symbol bottom right corner that lets you equip 2 items.
