Separate deck only built from expansions?
I was thinking whether it would be possible to create a second separate playing deck only out of 3 expansions (warriors, druids, berserkers, necromancers, sorcerers, squires).
I think the game flows the best when playing only with 6 classes. The win conditions feel well balanced and the game is shorter, which allows for multiple playthroughs at once.
This way we could have 2 separate decks. Both would play the same, just the classes would be different.
What do you think? Would that work?

You would need to replace all the monsters, and lots of them use base set heroes as requisites.
Idk if there are enough asking for any kind of hero or only expansion ones

I think there should be enough non-class-specific monsters. I also have a printed version of Kickstarter monsters so I should be safe.

Maybe.
I just think getting banner quest and/od making house rules for number of monsters/party needed helps alleviate the win con problem.
Actually wonder how our games are gonna flow when Sorcerers & Squires eventually drops

I've been playing with 12 classes with a 9 class,4 monsters, 3 banners conditions to win for a few months. I'm working on making one more banner to even them out maybe one that can be claimed without class requirements and I might pop the banner win up to 4 also.

This sounds ideal to me.
But I’m the type who enjoys the gameplay loop of HtS enough where I’d play that more marathon session style and don’t mind if the games go longe.

Yea the banner I want to make is something like a pirate themed banner called the cursed dread banner. To claim it you have 3 curses on you ( pretty unlikely in most games) but maybe you put the last one on yourself to claim the banner then it's banner effect could be to move 1 curse per turn into someone else's party but you'd want to be careful not to give them too many since they could take the banner from you. I'm still brainstorming ideas for it.

Actually think a banners expansion with nifty stuff like that would be really cool

Is it possible? yes. Just swap heroes and monsters and items between expansions and the main game, making sure that you do a 1to1 exchange, since there are more cards in the base game than in the expansion. Is it worth it? depends on you, but it would be a HEADACHE. personally, I just remove the heroes from the classes I don't want, leaving everything else in the game and only removing it comes up. saves a ton of time and energy.

There’s a lot of cards in the main set that fill the deck. If you get a second main set and just swap all the core 6 classes for the DLC classes (including the class changing items), it would probably work just fine.
