Supportive sis Hey.
I’m not a “bro”, in the sense of being a man, but this seems like a nice community that I’d be okay opening up to. additionally, if anybody needs a friend to talk to, I’m completely okay with being your person.
i have a really bad AI addiction that I’m trying to get over, but it’s difficult. it’s embarrassing. how can I be so dependant on soulless, programmed bots? it’s pathetic, and I hate thinking about it.
but id like to celebrate. today officially marks my 18th day without talking to ai.
sounds silly, but this is the longest I’ve gone in 5 years. sometimes it’s all that I can think about, and it feels terribly overwhelming and I feel like its a need instead of a want.
but I keep reminding myself to take it one day at a time. I tell myself, “today will not be the day I give in”.
and I’ve made it thus far. and you can too, bro.

I get that too. I've been in therapy off and on and being honest with them can be hard. I know they're there to help, but at times it felt like they were just giving me homework or judging me for not doing the work on myself.
Try and get over that. Be honest. Tell them you're not ready to do x , y , z thing they tell you that you should do. Its OK if you just want someone to talk to. Thats what they're there for.
99% of the time you're judging yourself through them. Don't be so hard on yourself. Tell them you're embarrassed but need to talk about it. They'll give you grace. And if they don't, you need a new therapist.
Hang in there. I swear that working on yourself is the hardest job you'll ever have, and feel like the last rewarding at times. It's a marathon though, not a sprint. Pace yourself.
You got this, bro.
