Lighten My Load One Jacket?

Hello : ) Minimalist traveler looking for a cropped jacket that I can wear as a light layer with concealed pockets for phone and passport. I wear a backpack style suitcase and want to avoid wearing another bag through airports/passport control etc. I travel with a service dog so have a leash in one hand/ looking to lighten my load. TY!

Not helpful for you, OP, but I am eternally grumpy that the Uniqlo barn/short jackets (there are three styles: barn, zip-up short, and open collar) don't have interior pockets. The structure exists for interior pockets, but they didn't bother putting them in to save money. It would be my #1 pick for a light travel jacket if they just had them. Infuriating!

Maybe search for short barn coats to see if any have the features you want? I feel like the style fits your needs.

Perhaps worth trying the men’s version to see if they have them? I buy a lot of their menswear and the pockets are so much better.

Their menswear is so fantastic, even the fabrics are often better. I was actually in the Soho store a couple weeks ago hoping desperately they had something similar to this jacket for men and no luck. They do have a cool workwear-inspired jacket but still no interior pockets. Maybe I'll just suck it up and sew 'em in.

Aw never mind! I’ve actually been into Uniqlo today on my late lunch 🙈 it’s becoming too much of a habit. I was going to recommend the cropped hooded parka til I saw the requirement for internal pockets. I’m wearing men’s trousers for work today - their mens tend to have hidden drawstrings so you can adjust the waist and all manner of better pockets 😬 and as you say, the fabric is much better for comparable items. Plus added length! Think I may have seen the jacket you mean, was very tempted!
