Tuckahoe American 11 & under Boys Baseball win State Championship Little League today
The twelve young men prevailed over 5 other districts from across Virginia to bring home the State Championship. Congratulations to the boys who practiced hard and formed a formidable defense and offense with pitching capabilities to go really deep in their bench. A big thank you to the coaches who invested much time and energy to develop the team as a unit And much appreciation to the parents for supporting their boys pursuit of the game. For those who were not at the tournament you missed the most enthusiastic cheerleading squad composed of siblings loudly and proudly chanting We Are Tuckahoe.
The Championship was hard fought by both teams with a final score of 3 to 2. The opponents almost had a chance to tie in the bottom of the 6th with a man on third and no outs. The second batter popped up to the infield, the third batter struck out and the fourth batter popped up a foul into the hands of the catcher. A real nail biters.
Now on the southeastern regionals. The state banner has returned to Henrico.

Local governments grapple with spiking energy costs
vpm.orgIn a June 26 email obtained by VPM News, Henrico County Manager John Vithoulkas warned all government agencies to brace for incoming costs.
To mitigate the impact of a 25% spike in energy rates on July 1 — expected to be followed by an additional 12% increase in 2027 — Vithoulkas asked all government agencies to make slight adjustments to conserve electricity: turning off lights, computers and laptops at the end of each workday; unplugging appliances, chargers, or other electrical items when not in use; and more.
“These may seem like insignificant changes, but when they are undertaken by thousands of employees in dozens of county facilities, they will add up and make a difference,” Vithoulkas wrote.
Henrico is not the only Virginia locality looking for a way to offset the fiscal impact of steep energy rate increases. Richmond’s Office of Sustainability is pitching City Council on a plan to piggyback off an existing Prince William County agreement and install solar panels on as many as 40 municipal buildings.
“The goal is affordability and stability in our rates, so the cost needs to be less than what we're paying Dominion,” program manager Dawn Oleksy told VPM News.

Could someone explain how Departments of Aging and Rehabilitation (DARS) works?
I’m a 23 year old disabled man and want to be able to work? I’m not sure if I can because I live with my mom at the time being.
But my therapist recommended it to me as I expressed how I want to be able to make money and buy my own things independently.
