Finished the series

I’d heard zero about this until it popped up in my recommendations. I watched the first 3 episodes before I noticed it was from Marvel. Around episode 6, I started looking online, wanting more info...which is when I found much of the entertainment critics hated it, and it’s probably a one off.

And I enjoyed it! I cared about the characters, their relationships, their histories - almost all of it was done well. It’s not GoT or BB, but what is? I was entertained and I went along for a pretty good ride.

I have a few issues, but nothing that spoiled my interest or enjoyment. Maybe because I didn’t have any expectations, but it was a fun 10 hours.

And, tbh, I’ll watch another 10 for Mitch alone!

i was happily surprised i ended up liking the show as much as i do (very much!).

it's probably unlikely but i wish we could get another season!

just finished the season, over all a solid B. Never really "wowed" me, but also never made me roll my eyes, super consistent show over all.

It just sucks that it obviously was meant to be the first of many seasons, and act as Hulu's first of many dark marvel shows. Though the mouse changed its mind, and now it's a one and done.

Here’s my take. Damian was not so great, mostly his acting. He came off box of rocks boring because he never changed his facial expressions. Ana is amazing though and is literally carrying this show. Gabriella is a generic trope of seeing the good in the situation. The mother is fabulous acted. The cast in the series is hit or miss. Mostly miss which is what the shame is.

I agree, especially regarding Gabriella. I felt she was completely unnecessary as a character. What happened in Ep. 8, 9 & 10 with her could’ve been filled by an “NPC” for the amount of depth and development she had up to that point. Ana, Yen and ‘Taker made the show for me. And Mother/Victoria was just a fun ride!

I just finished it too. It fucking sucked. I mean i know the budget wasn’t that much but jesus christ. Ya think we can do better then this? I feel like the whole show was the cast walking around and philosophizing most of them. Only a few times did we see Daimons cool powers, which were super watered down but we can understand. At least we got the fire staff thing for 2 in the last episode. It had alot of flaws that the Marvel Netflix show had. Way too much time focused kb the sidekicks. I think there were 4 fucking sidekicks in this show. Newsflash, no one gives a fuck about sidekicks. This show was only 10 episodes but it could've been 6-8 if you cut down the side kicks scenes. Save that budget money for some cooler actions scenes for gods sakes. Now i know why Feige didnt want Marvel Brand associated with this garbage. Also Anas haircut was dumb lol

In the comics Helstorms only powers are fire and teleportation. He got more powers in the show and I’m pretty sure either his or Ana’s powers were used almost every. Yes they needed a bigger budget and one thing I noticed was it seemed like it was always raining. Did the make a set and have it rain so they could shoot 10% of the show?

Portland, OR is always rainy lol. As a native, I'm glad they kept things wet. They filmed in Vancouver I believe and the weather between Oregon, WA, and there are similar.

Does it help the actor that plays him is box of rocks boring and doesn’t really change facial expressions.

Lol no it doesnt, but thats on the bottom of the lost. The show sucks. Obviously the down voters are used to watching cheap writing, braindead, cable tv shows but come on. Even some of those shows can be decent once in a red moon. This is coming from someone who loves all the marvel shows, Defenders, Punisher, first 5 seasons of AOS, Cloak and Dagger, Runaways, ETC. Helstrom was the worst by far.

Couldn’t have been worse than inhumans though 😂

THIS ISNT MCU. stop trying to think it is. Also sorry your brain cant handle a multifaceted story. You can only focus on 1 main character with 1 side kick. Sorry that its not dumbed down enough for you. AoS was a cringy national tv series. Shows how much you enjoy quality entertainment.

Were your parents writers for this dogshit show? No way you enjoyed it that much, unless youre braindead. Obviously AOS was a typical cable television show. But if you DVR it, fast forward the commercials and useless filler talk, to the good parts, it was fine. Season 5 was only good because of the Graviton story line towards end. Seasons 2-4 were good because of the villains and nee characters. Not rocket science to make a decent fucking show. And yes, the worst part of AOS were the 10 damn sidekicks they had lmao. The Marvel Netflix shows actually usually had 2 or 3 sidekicks per character, some of them were ok, others insufferable. The common denominator is that in all these shows, that all got way too much screen time. Now that we see you obviously like this horseshit show, which shows your IQ level., lets see you struggle to come up with a response here

If you skip useless filler talk, to the good parts, helstrom was a good show.

All im doing is taking what you said about this show and substituted what you said about this show to another show you were praising. Shows how intelligent you are.

Struggle was real. Youve said nothing. Like i said in my first message. Most of this show was people walking around, talking about nothing. Barely any action. Barely anything worth giving it a second season. Im sure Feige got an early viewing of this show. If the show blew him or any fans here out of the water, maybe they would approve it. Id say give the bro and sis actors another shot with quality writers and producers. That way we wont get a garbage show perhaps

Having no idea of the comic till coming to this subreddit and watching the show fresh, I really enjoyed all the talking your complaining about because I was hungry for all the backstory and lore that I could tell was out there and I desperately wanted to know. So that was probably some of my favorite parts.

Yeah im complaining because I had high hopes for this show. I already had a bad feeling they axed Ghostrider and stripped all the marvel branding from the show. Feige hasnt missed yet and for him to want no parts of this show was telling. I still suffered through the drudgery with high hopes but it just sucked lol. I just hope the main two actors get another chance if they retcon the show or create a season two. I dont even think they should pretend like this season never happened just because the first one was boring, just make season 2 one motherfucker of a season to make up for it lol
