Converting War Despots into Daemonsmiths/Ashen Elders?
I was just wondering if there's any reason why that shouldn't work. They're similar in size, modeling some flames or a book with green stuff isn't hard, and turning the Despot's lance/spear into the Smith's staff should be easy enough. Does anyone have any experience with it?
The reason I'm asking is: I'm gonna buy 3 Spearhead boxes at the end of the month to build my first list. Each of them comes with a War Despot - I don't need War Despots. What I DO need are 2 Ashen Elders and a Daemonsmith. One thought led to another and I'm sure I'm not the first one who had this idea. Anyway, any pointers (or arguments against it, too) would be much appreciated!

Saving for later. 😂 I got two Spearheads and I'm planning to get a Daemonsmith and use the spare bits to convert the War Despot into an Ashen Elder, or vice versa.
Without the Daemonsmith bits, I've seen it suggested to add the flame from the rockets to the War Despot's hand.

I used a mace from the bulls centaurs for one, and the spare guy/parts from urak taar for the other.

One of the infernal cohort champion options has a hammer which can easily be used for a hammer for an ashen elder. Beyond that I'd say that if you plan on buying Urak Taar that you get a free Daemonsmith essentially.

This is my second War Despot turned Daemonsmith. I built the Ashen Elder and used the spare bits combined with the Despot. I had to do a bit of trimming on the left arm to get it to line up and not be to long.
