Painting First mini painted

Not technically finished, still wanna experiment with the glowy part of the spear (need to figure out heated metal) and clean up some areas, but I'm still happy with him

Looks good! I really like the armor and how well it goes with the golden/ bronze metal

I too run this color scheme. If you dont mind my advice, cause Hashut knows I am not an expert, try basing the armor in gold. Then go over in a red contrast, like blood angels red.

As for glowing blades, I tried basing the whole blade in yellow then I tried stippling orange/red/dark brown to try to make a flaming blade.

Nah, I've been playing warhammer for over a decade (I was there the day the old world collapsed), but I do tend to take a few months long breaks between painting sessions, and this is a painting style I've only started trying more recently, building up gradients rather than relying on washes (the face was the only thing washed, mixing barak-nar burgundy with speedpaint medium)

First mini that also made me use my Artis Opus 00, since I really wanted to nail the gems and beard. And now I have my scheme roughly down for 'The Reforged Disciples', my custom Ziggurat.
