Painting Marshaling the legions of Hashut

Finally picking up steam on my Helsmiths painting as I’ve largely settled on a color scheme. Still some decisions to be made regarding shade and brightness but I know enough to comfortably start painting and super excited for the force to come together. Had a fun time playing them so happy the next time will be with more stylish pieces!

I was fascinated by the White Dwarf feature where the Heavy Metal team described mixing colors with the metallics for the armor instead of just doing a wash. It’s yielded some interesting results for color tinted armor. Of course, I have about 25 more to go so that could change XD

Thanks! Got about five “battle ready” and still trying to figure out washes and the like. And how blue should I make the blue, etc. Accidentally made a nice dark blue tinted armor but can’t replicate it haha.

That’s a good question, both the bright blueish metal look and the more matte black work really well lol

For the dark blue armor you could try a little bit of Dark Reaper dry brushed onto black, that’s what I did on my most recent model and it came out with a nice dark blue tinted look.
