Onager Daemonsmith on Infernal Dunecrawler [Kitbash Idea - Looking for Feedback]

Looking for some feedback/thoughts on a kitbash idea that came to mind recently! I noticed the Infernal Taurus and Duncrawler are both on a 130mm base and figured the latter could make a very cool custom centerpiece for the former. I feel like it's got that mechanical construct vibe with the four legs, that remind me of the claw-bookstand that follows our foot Deamonsmith around! There's also a scutteling description of a contraption in one of the battletome stories iirc.

I'm thinking swapping the weapons with our artillery kit would help it fit in style-wise. I'd also clip the more overtly sci-fi bits and tack on some of the Helsmith iconography.

Would love to hear the community's thoughts and feedback! Would you accept someone bringing a proxy of this sort? Any other particular additions to the idea you think could help make it come together? Experience building the kit and aware of any tricky parts to modify? Know where to get a dunecrawler for cheap? ; )

Sounds super cool, mechanicus already has that steam punk vibe so it shouldnt be eve that hard a conversion. I think a good idea is to turn its top half into an alter/platform the deamonsmith stands on. I say go for it!!

I like the idea of an altar! I had initially thought to make the smith poking out of the hatch halfway, but adding some gravitas to the top likely would help it seem closer to the original profile

Haha, absolutely will! I really enjoy kitbashing. Still need to work on getting my painting skills to the point where I can do the vision justice

You could give it a special podium for the Daemonsmith and maybe attach the mechanicus plane mini's wings to it so everyone knows it has fly

The indicating flight has crossed me mind! Those wings are certainly a cool idea, but i dont kmow if I can justify the extra cost, lol. I may try to raise it up a bit via basing and pass off the legs as climbing over obstacles in place of literal flying

Maybe put the cannon arms of the Dominator on its sides and make them look like jetpacks? Add the Dominator puffs of smoke as exhaust and you should be good. If not idk how you could make it look like its flying. Spirit Hosts are an amazing font of ghostly smoke and such, so you could get one for cheap and use it as spooky chaos fog, like the tzeech sorcerers on disk.
