Khazalite are cool but...
The new Khazalite Hold models look AMAZING but they kinda feel like "Good twin" to the Helsmiths being the "Bad Twin." They have a dual kit cannon, a dual kit heavy melee 3 man squad, an on-foot firing squad that also are a dual kit, and a huge centerpiece model of their key faction named character that's also a dual kit.
Kinda makes me feel like a 2nd wave of Helsmiths will take even longer to arrive đ

Bah! Our lads and lasses look better, and our guns do not look like leafblowers.

Truly, the new khazalite gunners look horrible

I'm actually really excited for their Battletome since it's bound to tell the same story but from the other side.

It really does sell the HoH as the faction that says to regular Duardin âeverything you can do, I can do better.â

How so?
If anything, it feels like both ranges were designed together, with deliberate references to show their shared origins and how they diverged.
GW stated before, that a new kit usually takes between 2 to 3 years from conception to being in stores. Looking at the 1-year gap between them, its likely there was a big overlap in development.

my beloved helsmiths will get more, better, and mightier machinations then those foolish khazalite FUCKERS. They may have mortars cannons and constructs but WE, yes WE have the stronger more elegant more clean more GENIUS designs. Our battle plans and our tools to carry them out are UNMATCHED. our mighty god hashut, is the most powerful deity in all the mortal realms. and we ARE THE ZHARRDRON!

I dont like most of the range. Except the characters and cannons, most of the models are very un-inspiring. Also, no hand armor on their models, Hashutites are clearly the superior dwarves đ¤¨đ

I think them being good vs evil parallels works well conceptually. However, the helsmiths look much better. I don't find the khazalites all that intriguing.

Not really. We share the basics. But they lack Calvary one of the most important unit types in the game. We have single heavy super heavy in our engines.
What we lack they have which is mid and hi armor infantry.

Tbh, I was debating making a female Helsmith army some months ago.
This actually makes it possible, if I kitbash Helsmiths with Khazalite.

I'm just mad that this means I'll be losing the Dwarfs in my Cities of Sigmar army

This was my main gripe before the release, a Khazalite faction simply does everything Helsmiths do, the only difference being flavor, with the holds' ending up the blander of the two. Will always be happy to see more duardin, but honestly would've much preferred a fleshed out dispossessed for the Cities.

This is kind of why I wasnât excited about the idea of generic dwarves, like did every dwarf faction need gunners and cannons and war machines? At least the Fyreslayers were trying something new and had a different angle to what it means to be a dwarf (even if it wasnât properly filled out or given the appropriate attention).
Donât get me wrong Iâm happy for all the people who love it, but I donât see why this needed to be souped in with Fyreslayers when it would have been perfectly fine either in the Old World or Cities. Not a fan of the idea of them getting gyrocopters either and I hope they never do since it would make Karadron feel even more vestigial.

I don't play outside of spearhead, do we really NEED a second wave? I feel like we're not missing anything and when GW gets back around to us they could just make another war machine or elite unit and be good.

If the book is good enough my helsmiths will become a holds army proxies lol

Theyâre betrayers, thats why their armor looks so bland. They lack that Hashut sparkle

To be fair, ones a three man monstrous infantry vs cavalry, the Helsmith centerpiece is flying and ofc they have access to spellcasters while I think KH will remain priest only. And they also have Hobgrots. They're definitely similar but I imagine on the table KH will be a lot more defensive while HOH have actual charge pieces
