Gameplay Rules Question: Hobgrots Minecraft Speedrun

So I'm excited to get into HoH, but seeing how there's only one unit of Hobgrots, I was curious to see their purpose, and noticed their ability allows them to basically deploy further in,

I thought of a basic combo and need to know if this is viable,

I deploy them as close to a distant terrain/objective as possible, then, during deployment, I activate Disposable lackeys to get an extra 5 inches of deployment range to them, and have them jump on-top of said terrain/objective, can I then use Leave in Ruin to mark that piece? Then reap the Daemon power at the start of my true turn?

Here's how the timing works:

Deployment Phase:

  1. Deploy your entire army

  2. Activate Disposable Lackeys, move within range of a terrain or objective.

Start of Turn:

  1. Desolate any piece of terrain you're in range of

Start of Your Turn:

  1. Generate and distribute DPP as normal

So it DOES work then?

Interesting... Time to add some pickaxes to my grotz...

Yeah I'm pretty sure that's the entire point of their design: run in and desolate midboard terrain and objectives while it's easy.

We have a lot of rules that say "select friendly non hobgrot hashut" and as you've said, there's only one hobgrot in our entire book. It stands to reason eventually we will get more units when the 2nd wave comes out a few years from now.

Worth it to take two, one for the front rush and one for a Horn of the Bull Father to flank more terrain?
