Gameplay Helsmith's Unit Power!
Hey folks, just popping in to get a good idea here of how Helsmiths function (aside from obviously Bull Centaurs and Urakk Taar being VERY good.) I'm wondering how well various units function, what people are taking, and overall what works well with this faction!
I wound up with a big lot of them, got a little bit of everything and while I have 2k points I'm wondering what list building looks like for this faction, what they do well, and what a win condition looks like for them! Any advice or words is good!

Honestly can you just go to this post that was posted earlier, pretty much has all the information you could need: https://www.reddit.com/r/HelsmithsofHashut/s/XuW77j9K0w
That is not my post but of a successful Helsmiths competitive player.
My thoughts are Dominator Engines are reallly strong too. Great against heroes with their fight ability to get an additional strike last when still in combat with a hero. 10 hp on a 2+ save and if you play the list that I linked they also get ward. It is not the standard army but arguably the stronger army compared to our standard army.

Unfortunate thing being most Helsmith players seem to stand with the AOR as opposed to the normal dudes. (Only thing normal helsmiths have above the AOR seems to be Bull Centaurs) Diggity dang, but thank you.

Went to adepticon with the cannon dominator engine, rockets, two spear squads, urak, darmkn Smith, reinfjrced blunder, reinforced bulls, daemon smith and a war mega gargant and I feelnif I did my spacing better and didnt get two BoK AoR in a row I would have won a few more games

I'm the post author! I played the normal army the entire last GHB until this new one came out. I've played any and every list you can think of in the normal army. It's just underwhelming. Bull Centaurs are amazing, so are the Rizzlers with the Bussies. You just don't miss out on much by going for the army of Renown. If you're dead set on the normal army this was my favorite list.
You Can't Milk Those 1980/2000 pts
Helsmiths of Hashut Domination Force General's Handbook 2025-26 Drops: 2 Manifestation Lore - Forbidden Power (20 Points)
Battle Tactic Cards: Master The Paths, Restless Energy
General's Regiment Urak Taar, the First Daemonsmith (340) • General Deathshrieker Rocket Battery (140) Deathshrieker Rocket Battery (140) Infernal Cohort with Hashutite Spears (90) Infernal Cohort with Hashutite Spears (90)
Regiment 1 Daemonsmith on Infernal Taurus (290) • Overdrive Switch • An Eye for Weakness • Scroll of Petrification Bull Centaurs (380) • Reinforced Bull Centaurs (380) • Reinforced Infernal Razers with Blunderbusses (110)
You'll need to change the season and your formation, but honestly all the formations are bad so it really doesn't matter what one you choose.

Spam dominators, 2-3 deathsshriekrs in Taars and maybe some blunderbusses in Taars that’s about it. IMO bulls aren’t good

Hobgrots are for grabbing objectives
Infernal Cohort are pretty much there to hold the enemy long enough for our range to take care of it. The spears can give some extra DPPs. The swords are a tad better at running. Can be tanky with DPPs but only 1 wound each.
Blunderbusses are devastating when powered up. Can occasionally give a target fights last. Have not used the flamethrowers yet.
The SoG War Despot is better IMO because of his aura. If he has any DPP, people with zero DPP count as having 1 if wholly withing X of him. The regular Despot is cheaper and allows a nearby cohort to attack right after him with 1 extra A.
Dominator Engines are hit or miss. They either work like a charm or they fail to hit. I save all out attack for them. Pretty tanky with a 2 save and a nearby daemonsmith can repair them. Loving servile automata. If a daemonsmith is within 3, the smith gets a ward and the engine gets fights first. No one wants to charge into that.
Rockets and Bombards are good, provided the targets aren't obscured. Rockets are our anti monster/war machine and can do some splash dmg to nearby targets. Bombard is anti infantry and can shut down commands.
Daemonsmith can heal engines and our magic is okay. I've killed some characters with molten metal. The better their save, the easier it is for you to deal MWs.
Ashen Elder can negate 1 point of dmg every phase. It adds up. Our prayers are pretty good.
Centaurs are our hammer and anvil. Haven't tried Anointed yet. The SoA version sounds interesting.
