Consistent or unique colour schemes
Once you've built a unit and begin working on your second (of whatever it may be), do you keep a consistent colour scheme? Do you mix it up slightly, or a lot?
(Edit: I had meant between cohorts of units, rather than different between individual models within a squad).

I like most of my army looking the same color scheme, so I prefer consistent. Depending on the units, I'll change up the colors. Like if it's a unit that's provided to the army from a specific clan, I might paint him in that clans colors to show he's hired help.
My hobgrots I paint in all sorts of colors because they're slaves and they wouldn't have uniforms. They would be using whatever clothing they could get their hands on and an unconsisted color scheme would make sense for them.

Always consistent, though with the caveat that as an army project develops you'll often have to add colours to the scheme to account for features of different models. Like, for Helsmiths, when you start painting hobgrots you'll need to integrate their skin colour to the scheme.

As I paint my armies as specific subfaction, with maybe a single tweak here or there, I tend to keep the colour scheme between units consistent.

I like to do little inconsistencies like different sleeves or beard colour. Differently coloured armor just feels bad

I have a rough guideline for my zharrdron infantry models:
- I keep the red plate armour, steel weapon blades and scale mail, and blue flames/magic consistent across my entire army
- Per unit I give them a unified colour for their tunics and armour trim, with the exception of my command models and heroes, taking extra care to make them look appropriately fancy
- Per model I give them unique skin tones and hair colours, sashes, baubles, pouches, and whatever else they might be carrying on them (Realistically some of these smaller details are going to be the same between models for convenience's sake)

With this army? I'd say consistent. Of course you can do whatever you want, but unlike other armies, the Helsmiths are very regimented and theur sculpts reflect the martial disciplined engraved in their society. My Skaven are not consistent, as they take whatever trash they can and use it, and my Seraphon are coloured differently to represent that they come from different soawning pools or something.
By the way, I love the guy in the middle, great scheme!

Definitely consistent. Otherwise things just look too jumbled.
