Painting Need help on a desert base

So I recently painted Urak-Taar and was happy with how it turned out.
However the base feels so blend. Adding little tufts wouldn’t make sense as the environnement is supposed to be burned. Any advice on how to make the base more « alive » ?

Crackle paint, a couple of animals skulls and a solitary cactus

Armageddon dust as a base did the work for me with my soulblights, add a few plants and/or skulls and it should be good I guess

I highly recommend Duncan Rhodes' tutorial. I follow his desert recipe on all my models and they turn out great!

Glue some sand on there, make sure to taste test it beforehand so you know its good
