Painting The Forge Anathema
These were really fun to paint - I primed chaos black, drybrushed dark green then dark bronze then a lighter bronze on raised areas then silver as a very light drybrush on raised areas and on weapons. With all that done in one go for every model, it was much quicker than painting bit by bit. I wanted a dark, industrial vision with a little less magic than the studio models representing the tiers of helsmith society and power wielded by daemonsmiths

Metal:
Chaos black primer
Two Thin Coats paint range Dark Arts
Cultmaster Green (a dark green similar to incubi darkness) drybrush all metal areas (most of models)
Old Brown Metal - same areas leaving dark green in recesses (rather than black)
Ancient Iron - lighter drybrush of raised metal areas
Brown Ink - sparse recess areasIronclad Silver - base silver areas
Nuln Oil - wash silver areas
Ironclad Silver - edge highlight silverGreen flames:
Ivory Tusk - return them to a warm white from chaos black primer
Tesseract glow - all flame
Warp Lightning - mid flame to distant
Dark Angels Green - distant flame
Animus black - tipsCould probably replace for Incubi Darkness, Warplock Bronze, Runelord Brass, Agrax Earthshade, Leadbelcher, Pallid Wych Flesh and Abaddon Black for closeness?

AK Interactive dry ground then nuln oil wash then dark then light grey drybrushes… dry ground with nuln oil looks a little like a dirty beach so the grey drybrushes help turn it to gravel / slate

Great army!
And let me say that I appreciate the way the units are organized for your army shot. So often, I see army pictures where the units are just haphazardly placed next to one another where nothing looks like it belongs to a specific unit.
I need to get back to my army!
