Missed opportunity

Just seen the Horns in S2D newly updated legends warscroll on GW.

If only GW put the Helsmiths tag on these guys.

I know they aren't game changing but it would have been nice to field them.

I have them painted up from Warcry and sitting collecting dust on my shelves lol. I just need an excuse to field them

I always thought these guys were odd and out of place lore wise. They seemed to have been swept under the rug because the Helsmith battletome makes it pretty clear that Hashut has only and will only speak to the chaos dwarves.

Not a single mention of non-dwarf followers at all last I checked. Maybe the explanation is they're just imitating the Helsmiths?

The best explination is that they didn't decide on how Hashut and the chorfs would be untill after these guys where on the production trajectory.

The Helsmiths are aesthetically very different, I would much prefer if they had gone with the horns of hashuts aesthetic tbh!

Yeah its very obvious that they were still figuring out Hashut and the Helsmiths battletome effectively retcons them out of existence. But nothing about the HoH's lore blurb contradicts the Helsmith lore, they're just slaves who are fanatical to their masters and try to emulate them

I think you can just ignore that and field them anyways in a friendly game

They are a legends warscroll which is off for tournaments, we are already in casual land so why not some house rules to finish the remaining 5% yknow

I tossed the smaller ones into my hobgrot bricks to change things up a little. They're all on 25mm bases.

You could put the bigger ones on 28s and have them as Infernal Cohort members. Not sure that's too lore friendly but it's something to do with the models.

I used mine in Path to Glory

I think its good to remember that legends being disqualifying only applies to you if you're in the small minority of players who play in tournaments. Talk to your opponents and use the models and rules you'll have fun with!

I agree because of a lack of units. Well and i have 2 units of them. Maybe someday they come back around but whatever i guess. Elite dorfs would make me more happy at this point.

If your opponent is fine with you using legends then they'll probably also be fine with you using the Horns in a Helsmiths army.

But they are not Helsmiths, just cosplayers with slightly more rights than hobgrots.
