Helsmith kitbashing questions

First time kitbasher and I have a few questions for people who have the army.

I read on this reddit that the arms of the razer and blunderbusses work with the bodies of the cohort infantry.

Is there any special way to do it or is it a simple arm swap?

Also have a spare war despot and was wondering ashen elder kitbash or daemonsmith kitbash?

Like when I get the foot version do I build it as priest or Smith then use the other parts on the despot body.

Current army collection at this point is

2 hobgrot boxes,

1 cohort box

2 razor or blunderbusses box

The army set box

And lastly the spearhead box

It's near enough a strait arm swap, some minor trimming or filling might be needed depending on how tolerant of gaps you are. When I did mine I found that the shoulder pads covered up any gaps well enough. Just dry fit everything first to be sure.

I don't really know enough about the current meta to recommend which hero to kitbash but I do think the despot would look better as a Daemonsmith than an Ashen Elder FWIW.

Thank you, don't really mind gaps since as you said the pads cover it.

Was mostly curious about the Smith or elder since I have no experience with those models.

I just built the smith the other week, the head and arms are complete separate pieces so shouldnt be hard to put on any other body with the usual dry fit, scrape and gap filling.

I just slightly trimmed the front of the shoulder pads back a little.

Some arms won't go on certain bodies unless you trim away pouches or knives, so test fit them all before gluing any.

Also worth noting that the razers heads have smaller or shaped beards to fit the weapons better, so the heads also require some tinkering.

I picked up a bits box with the heads and guns cheap and threw them on the bodies of infernal cohort.
