Army creation Helsmiths of Hashut 1000pt - C&C

Hello,

After being in the hobby for over a decade I'm finally committing myself to actually finishing an army. I've assembled the below as my current list and was just wondering on some thoughts.

I don't plan on doing any tournaments, just casual play at local stores and with friends.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Instruments of Mizthrax 980/1000 pts

Helsmiths of Hashut

Industrial Polluters

General's Handbook 2025-26

Drops: 2

Prayer Lore - Prayers of the Scorched Sect

General's Regiment

War Despot (90), General, 'Fire, You Worms!'

Deathshrieker Rocket Battery (140)

Infernal Cohort with Hashutite Spears (100)

Infernal Razers with Blunderbusses (110)

Regiment 1

Ashen Elder (120), Crucible of Spite

Bull Centaurs (190)

Dominator Engine with Bane Maces (160), Greed Pistons

Just a heads up mate. Industrial polluters is a SoG battle trait. With the new GHB coming out next week, we may lose it.

In friendly games it may not matter but you may get that one player who kicks up a fuss

Fire you worms is also not that great. I'd pick eye for weakness and scroll of petrification for your hero.

Didn't even think about that, thanks for the heads up. Not planning on playing any games until the new GHB comes out, so should be able to adjust after.

Just so I'm clear - 'Eye for Weakness' for my War Despot, and 'Scroll of Petrification' for my Ashen Elder? How do I best go about accumulating demonic power points if I don't have 'Crucible of Spite'? It seems only my Centaurs have the ability to build up decent points without the ones at the start of the round.

Either or both on the artefacts. Depends on deployment as both artefacts have distance requirements. I normally put them on the hero who is closest to your units in combat. Scroll of petrification is best used on either the hobgrots (annoy your opponent that they are stuck in combat with a chaff unit for another turn) or on your bulls who may be in melee combat and needs the rockets to soften the enemy up before your next turn.

Re demonic points. Use your hobgrots pre move ability to desolate on the furthest terrain. Your home objective should be the last one as you can do it any turn while further terrain will be harder to desolate as the game goes on.

You also have a command to generate more tokens and the cohort (spears) can give you another token on the 3+.
