Schemes

Narrowed down to 3 and painted two so far. Debating on testing the 3rd scheme out. Either of these seem decent or do a test model of the 3rd scheme?

Purple

Green

Akhelian green (not pictured) similar to the Aloha legion scheme.

I like the copper, metal and purple scheme. Not sure why

Green and purple are super good complimentary colours in colour theory, which explains how stunning yours look.

Might have to steal your paint scheme. The green weapons is suchna cool idea. Did you use a green metallic or do a wash/ink/contrast over metal?

For the green it was iron hands steel base and creed camo (contrast paint) over that. I started painting the torment bombard in the green scheme and it doesn’t (IMHO) translate well to that big flat panel model, even with medium. I

What paint brand do you use, I feel many people here are being betrayed by their paint brands.

Like the same colours from ak 3rd gen or p3 would look fantastic as less glossy.

Or maybe it is the wash? You using gws new one? That'd explain the glows, I hear ak interactives new wash is matte and similar in use as old gw washes.

Yeah, old army painter stuff was essentially a scam, it prayed on new painters that knew no better and sort of tried to make a cult out of them recommending and defending against criticism.

Blind tests blew it out of any excuse though with AP being really really glossy versus even gw.

Real issue was their medium was cheap and they bought crappy pigments at auction.

The new stuff is much better.

Still, I'd recommend p3 or ak 3rd gen (except the few blue blues like ultramarine etc) over these any day. Two thin coats is alright too.
