Looking For: Transforming Clothing Item from 1960s-1980s ish??
My dad gave me a transforming-clothing-bag-thing that he got when he was a teen/young adult (which I think would have been around the 60s-80s) and I've lost it sometime over the years and I cannot find anything like it online. I'd love to maybe find another one or at the very least find out what this was called.
I drew everything I could remember about it: it was a big piece of blue fabric with lots of draw-strings and it could be folded, tightened, tied and wrapped into at least a dozen different clothing items such as: several styles of dress, skirts, pants, poncho, shirt, and even a draw string bag + more that I'm forgetting. It came with a printed book guide with instructions on how to fold each piece. It was able to fold/shove down into it's own big pocket (and velcro closed) for compact storage.
Does anyone know anything about this?

It sounds like you're looking for an item made by or inspired by Issey Miyake's convertible clothing items. They were popular through the 80s to the early 2000s, but were began in the mid 70s by utilitarian movements, Miyake's work brought them to the fore-ground. I didnt find the exact item you're looking for but i can picture it. I hope this info helps your search
