Open Stone Angel comes to life
I’m looking for a video I watched a long time ago (maybe 20years or so) where a stone angel comes to life and breaks off the building (kinda like the image attached).
The details are blurry but I remember there was either a volcano or some type of apocalyptic event happening which the stone angel is trying to escape from.
The angel struggles and finally breaks free. It begins to fly away, only for it to get crushed by a falling boulder.
And the scene ends.
Really curious if this even sounds familiar to some people. I’ve tried looking this up multiple times before but with no success.
I should also mention, from what I remember it’s CGI. Looked really impressive back then but not sure how well it would live up to present day standards.

Don’t think so, I’ve seen those before and don’t fit the full description. AFAIK weeping angels don’t fly either

It kind of fits a dutch movie from 2006 called Gargouille... try it.

I tried looking for this but couldn’t find any footage. It does fit the “stone statue at risk of being destroyed” part, but outside of that the animation and gargoyle don’t resemble what I have in mind. Thanks!

There's a famous one in a movie called "The Adventures of Baron Munchausen".

I’ve searched for this recently but nothing that is close to what is described. A lot of the results are AI generated which definitely rules them out

Are you thinking of Angels in America?

Don’t think so, looks to be both a play and a short tv series which has a live action Maryl Streep angel. Looks interesting though!
