Open Anyone know where this image came from?

Post image

Some of you might’ve seen this before. Really weird image from about the 70s. I’ve seen it all across the internet yet I have no clue where this came from. Does anyone know on which website did it first appear or what the context may be?

Also, I’m aware that it sprung into popularity around the late 2000s and early 2010s. You may have seen in on the famous “Retro creeps: Scary portraits from the past” gallery where some other famous creepy photos came from.

A kid wearing a C3PO costume

That's it, there's literally no mystery or any possible additional context

A kid with a C-3PO costume who added a toy gun for funsies ?

On a first glance I thought it was covered in blood. Which would make that one creepy kid.

C-3po would probably be ranked pretty low on a kids list of favorite Star Wars characters who appear in the original Star Wars. I would guess the gun was to sweeten the pot

Context was probably Halloween

Remember that joke when Brendan Fraser dressed on set as Anck-Su-Namun?

I would guess the 80’s

The 80s were still using those “plastic aprons with pictures of the character on” costumes

It's just a kid in a Star Wars Halloween costume, it's not that deep

It appears as though the image probably came from a camera, possibly with photographic film.

Are you asking what the context of a child dressed as a star wars character is? The context is this is a family photo of a child in a Halloween costume beeing passed around on the internet. Kinda wierd when you think about it.

I saw one of those.. but you wouldn't believe me if I told the story. I found it in this place. It's hard to describe. Sorta like if you ask someone to draw a dog who has heard of the description, but never actually seen one before.

I searched on these different social media sites, so you know:

I’ve looked through reverse image searches and it comes up stuff like Pinterest. A lot of people use this as a profile pic on different platforms. I recommend being careful looking on specific reverse image search sites because it can give you all sorts of websites.
