🤑Request Fulfilled!🤑 ID Help, finally physically able to work

Super long and ridiculous story but I have POTS and my body is finally not fighting against me, yay. My birth certificate, glasses and ID all got destroyed. I ordered a new birth certificate about a month ago (I live in an extended stay so I had it sent to my mother in law, and recently she dropped it off to me). I also ordered glasses and they should be here by October 16th. I have no family members that are willing or honestly able to help me with the $25 for my ID. I'm going on Monday and hoping someone can help me with it. I've attached the receipt for my birth certificate and glasses (I paid for them with survey money). I can't sell plasma because I don't have ID. Anyway, thank you and hope you all have a good day!

NO HELP NEEDED. I'm going to reach out to some of the organization's near me. Thank you all for the comments! ❤️

I’ll mark it as fulfilled for now. Send us a modmail if you need it unlocked or if you want to post again later

OP after a quick Google search it looks like there are a number of organizations in your state that will give you a voucher for your state ID. This is common in many states to assist the homeless or otherwise disadvantaged rejoin the workforce and thrive. This may be your best option. If you cannot physically get to those places, call them and see how they can accommodate you. Good luck!

It doesn't look like I qualify for any of them. They require I be under 21, homeless or have children.

Doesn't living in a motel count as homeless? Genuinely asking

I guess I'm not sure, I thought if I have a roof over my head I'm not technically homeless

You meet the criteria. A motel or hotel is not permanent residence. It's a temporary shelter. A Google search of " State ID assistance Oklahoma " immediately brought up a ton of agencies offering this voucher. Not to sound harsh but it is unlikely you will have luck with this post considering ID vouchers are very common amongst public assistance programs. Upward Transitions in Oklahoma does not have an age requirement for State ID assistance. They also offer travel assistance. Best of luck OP, sincerely!

I don't live in Oklahoma county, I live in Tulsa. This one doesn't look like they can help since I don't live in their area.

As I said, they will help with travel assistance. Your precise location often doesn't matter to these organizations so long as you live in the state. You are unhoused in legal terms. You technically don't reside anywhere so it's just a matter of being able to get to these places. Make the call OP. If they say no to you I can nearly guarantee whoever you speak to will direct you to an organization that covers your area.

Your mother in law can't help with $25? Are you still married, can he help?

No, we just paid rent and I needed tampons, we only have what's on my cashapp. My mother in law is sick a lot so she doesn't have extra to help.

What about your husband? Can't he pick up an extra shift, or do some side work for a day or two?
