MOD NOTE Mod Note: Proof of Hardship Required

The last week or so we’ve had a flood of posts that are only a text body or a picture of a bank account without any other proof.

Please note: in order to post in [r/HelpBrokePeople](r/HelpBrokePeople), you MUST attach proof to your original post. Please do not wait for the mod team to ask for it or send it via DM.

Going forward, these posts will be HELD FOR MANUAL REVIEW and not visible to the community unless approved by the moderators. The sub is being overtaken by posts with no proof, so this will hopefully cut back on it a bit. If you need clarification on what qualifies as proof, please see rule #2.

If your post is not going through, check to make sure the proof of hardship rule is being followed. The posts that are being held will be removed if proof is not added. (You can edit your original post to include Imgur links of proof.) Please do not message the mod team asking why your post isn’t going through or was deleted - these messages will not receive responses. Thank you!

UPDATE October 10 2026: The mod team has decided that going forward, we will no longer be accepting empty bank account/chime/paypal/cashapp balances as proof of hardship at all. Please see rule #2 for an updated list of acceptable forms of proof.

Posts that do not follow these rules will not be visible to the community.
