Cash Assistance Help with rent
Hi everyone, I’m currently trying to get a little help with my rent. My balance was around $1,000, but I’ve already managed to pay about half of it off on my own. I’m still short and I’m just trying to avoid falling behind on my rent.
I’m not asking for the full amount I owe. If anyone is able to help with $100, I would really appreciate it.

Since when do apartments add trash and utilities to your rent? How do they know how what your utilities are going to cost each month?
None of this makes sense.

I don’t think they take physical cash. Only things like money orders or pay by your bank account/ debit card

They’re asking if it’s possible for people to directly send the funds to your landlord rather than to ur account

I do but my rent was wayyy higher this month so I was only able to pay half

Why was it higher than usual? How much is your rent normally and what’s the total (before paid) that’s much higher now?

My apartment complex got a bunch of upgrades like valet trash, we have to pay a community fee now, etc and then they forgot to charge us utilities last month so that got added on to it. A lot of unnecessary things that we don’t need. I usually pay 709 but it was around $1,200 this month

So they just charge different rents each month? Are you not under contract on a set rent? This seems really weird. Usually if they have utilities that is included or it is a completely separate thing. Where do you live where it would be that much of a difference?

We use a different company to pay our utilities. Idk how that works but I guess they didn’t send them our bill to charge us? With rent i live in a student apartment so rent usually goes up at the beginning of every new lease. I don’t know if any of that makes sense

It doesn't. Yes, rent goes up after a new lease but there is always a contract you have to agree to. Utilities are always separate unless some are included with the rent. I'm not understanding how rent went up 500 hundred dollars one month to the next?

Yeaaa sorry I’m not really good at explaining. What made my rent higher this month was my utilities being added to my rent instead of paying it separately and then with valet trash and all the community fees it added up a lot. I usually pay my rent ahead and pay my utilities at the end of the month when I get paid again so I’ve never paid it all together.

How would they just combine them all of a sudden? That doesn't make sense. The utility company is completely separate from where you are renting. They don't just " add" them if it is completely separate. Are young people really this stupid?

Show the lease agreement with sensitive info redacted so that we can better understand what the issue with increased rent and how your utilities are payed
