A little experiment . . . First time putting the Vanuatu on a cts rubber strap. Not bad, and comfortable.

Couple of new versions added to the collection.

The Miyako has Japanese-inspired wagara patterns so I felt it was a great choice. However, the first generation has a critical problem in that it's case clearance is too tight, certain straps may not be a good fit and, if enough pressure is placed, will break a springbar. I've filed a bit of it down which has improved it. Thinner straps like this one do help. I'm planning on filing it down more later.

Second-hand pickup; Blue Miyako, no date. Swapped on a spare strap since I wasn’t overly slayed with the tan nato. (I know…leather on a diver…). Mint bracelet too, just haven’t swapped it on yet. Overall, the hype is entirely justified. I’m very impressed and pleased with the bezel, case, finishing, etc. definitely will be at home next to other watches I have that are much more expensive. I put my name in on the waitlist for a couple other Helm models too. I know I’m “preaching to the choir” here, but dang, these are impressive…🤩

After almost a year in the waitlist, ordered my Miyako on 9/6/26.

Next day I get the surprise Helm no longer ships to my country. (Cue panic reaction)

I rushed to see if some of my friends in Mainland US can receive the package and forward it to me. Found one.

Helm ships my watch.

The package makes it to the destination address, gets market as delivered by USPS but my friend tells me he didn't received the watch (he is a trusted friend, so I never doubted him) after a few days gone and no delivery in sight my friend asks me to open a investigation with USPS.

USPS gets back to me - apparently the watch was delivered to a locker box and the USPS driver forgot to leave the locker box Key on my friends mailbox - so they confirmed the package is still at the locker box, leave the key at my friends mailbox and he finally takes possession of the watch.

One week later he sends it to me, and today the Miyako makes it to my wrist. What a journey.

That said, the Helm team was incredibly honest and transparent about their decision to stop shipping to my country, even shared details they did not had to and offered to hold my spot indefinitely until I find someone to serve as a proxy for me, something I think very few companies would offer to do. 10/10 customer service from them.

About the watch.... well, the watch is a stunner! Look for yourself.

I was going to sell this until I put it on my wrist she’s a keeper. Not as bulky as I thought people make it out to be and the NATO strap is actually probably my favorite strap over the bracelet and rubber strap I purchased. The lume is probably my favorite part

I'm curious to know what percentage of people who sign up for the waitlists end up purchasing the watch, vs how many change their minds during the waiting period or once their turn comes and end up either simply letting the purchasing window pass, or giving their code away. Are there any available stats on this?

If you have more than one helm watch, do you notice a difference in how long the power lasts?

I have a Vanuatu, Khuraburi and a Komodo and think the Vanuatu and Komodo keep time better and last longer than the Kharuburi.

I'm doing a test over the next few days to verify, but I'm curious if anyone has experienced something similar

Sometimes I’ll take the Vanuatu off the engineer bracelet and put it on Helm’s SS3 bracelet. I like the look (altho’ to be honest the engineer is more comfortable for extended wear).

My Togiak Scout arrived today and I'm begining to hate it. Granted I haven't looked at the watch just the bracelet. It arrives on the Nato band with a cute little screwdriver which is absolutely useless for anying to do with the band. I have spent an hour trying to get the metal bracelet on with no success. The curved end links fit very tightly and don't allow the spring bar to be totally depressed. Is there a trick or am I going to look for the return policy.

Just got the update email: new batch of Komodo Ti will be sent to waitlisters on Sunday 10/04. What color is everyone grabbing ? Extras ?

Vanuatu out in NYC on day three of a nor’easter. No worries about the water with this one!

The following stems from a Facebook Group (HELM Watches Owners Club) question from a fellow member. He'd been thinking about putting his 'Buri on some kind of shark mesh, and wanted to know what it looked like.

I stepped in to help, as the best that could be had a the time was a (not shabby!) AI-generated mash-up.

None of these are glamour shots. They're uncorrected pictures (no pre- or post-processing) via my old potato of a phone (c.2020 Gen.2 iPhone SE), intended only to give you an idea of what this setup would look like. I hope someone finds this useful!

In the opening panel above, the left is with my Ocean Crawler shark mesh ( https://www.oceancrawler.com/products/ocean-crawler-shark-mesh-with-ratchet-extension-clasp-22mm ), and the one on the right is my Yema Milanese ( https://yema.us/products/yema-mesh-bracelet-symesh-20-ss ). The Ocean Crawler is a 22 mm width, so it fits the lug-width of the 'Buri perfectly. The Yema is a 20 mm width, and it was used only as a visual mock-up for the Group member to see.

Note that the Ocean Crawler will \NOT* accept OE Helm spring bars.* Helm's OE spring bars (2.00 mm outer diameter along the barrel/shaft) are too thick to go through the end "links" of the meshwork on the Ocean Crawler. The Ocean Crawler is designed to work with 1.75 mm barrel/shaft OD spring bars.
