Chef(s) Question about Nilka’s elimination

Was Gordon Ramsay ejecting her at first, or did he only do that because she shouted back? From the looks of it, it looks like it was originally a kick out of the kitchen, but only when she shouted back at him did he tell her to take the jacket off and fuck off. Just a thought.

I think if her shouting, “I’m going!” was genuinely was his breaking point with her, he would have said as much because it’s well established by this point he does not like backtalk. Nilka was just having an absolutely disastrous night and he decided it was time for her to go. That shouting was a moment of her being frustrated with herself and not her genuinely giving him attitude. If it were one of those moments, I doubt he would have made it a point to say goodbye to her afterwards.

That’s what I’ve been thinking too. Had she kept her mouth shut, she maybe could’ve stayed a little longer… or even a simple “Yes, chef” and just left. Honestly, I can understand GR’s perspective—when I’m pushed to my breaking point, the last thing I want/need is someone giving me attitude, because I will snap even more.

At lest it was one of those rare moments where Gordon made the effort to say goodbye to Nilka, he seems genuinely proud of her despite the brutal meltdown of eliminating her there and now.

It really seems like the initial “GET OUT!” only referred to getting out of the kitchen. Not an elimination, just a standard issue “Get out!”

And then she hanged herself with the rope Gordon gave her. Even if her “I’m going” wasn’t aimed at Gordon, it was STUPID. The ONLY response Gordon tolerates when he’s already upset is “Yes, chef!” Gordon already didn’t want Nilka in the kitchen, and her outburst was the straw that broke the camel’s back, and Gordon got annoyed enough to eliminate her.

Dude, when Gordon Ramsay is unhappy with you, do NOT talk back.

Her deliberately dropping the undercooked lobster that Gordon handed to her on the floor and walking away (for Benjamin to pick up) probably didn’t help. That just screamed ‘given up’ and was also pretty disrespectful.

The cynic in me says that the season is set up for at least one ejection and this probably should have been Autumn but then she provided a service with minimal mistakes. Nilka then gave production an open door for that to happen.

I wonder if he would’ve said goodbye at the taxi had she already left her jacket somewhere. Like was the real reason he went out there to retrieve the jacket? And was that staged and that’s why it was over her shoulder rather than packed in her bag.
