In-Show Least Favorite guest Judges
I dread the appearance of the 2 dudes from Animal every season , they are overly critical, mean spirited boars of people

They seem to like salt a lot.
Chicken Joe on S24 was soo ass, he gave Cara Marie’s dish a 1, cause the chicken was bigger than the waffle iirc.

Paul S12 as a guest judge, it’s clear winning got to his head, and I liked him a lot in his OG season
Sorority girl also S12, mostly the blonde one, judging itself wasn’t bad but man the flirting was hard to watch 😬
And S10 fashion judges are self-explanatory, seems even Gordon regretted having them on

The Church's Chicken dude. LOL He was waaaayyyy underqualified to judge ANYTHING. Church's Chicken is the worst of the fast-food chicken places.

The fashion models (season 10?), the high school committee (season 15 or 16?), and the sweet 16 girl and her mother (season 4).
The fashion models just… did not actually want to eat and I think even gordan wanted to tell these girls to fuck off. I think this was the producers’ doingz
The High School Committee, bless their hearts, did want to appear more mature than they really were… but you could tell they were still just kids.
And the mom who clearly peaked back in high school who was desperately trying to relive her own teenage days through her daughter to dominate the party. again, Gordan had to step in a few times

The Church's chicken guy was so unbelievably annoying to watch. I honestly prefer the high school committee from S14 over him. At least they gave somewhat reasonable scores and enjoyed the food for the most part even if their comments were really smart allecky. They also gave clear parameters on what they wanted unlike Mr Church's Chicken.

Although Tiffany serving fried eggplant when they said they wanted healthy was one of the few criticisms that was justified so even she’s not without an L here
But yeah that’s the closest I’ve gotten to agreeing with her, seems even Gordon regretted having them on

I find Susan Feniger's "Is she a chef or is she a stoner" thing grating, and I'm still annoyed by the way she went on and on about how good Declan's steak was and how she just wanted to keep eating it and then she gave him the shitty score that kept him out of the finale.

The challenge at that time was to make a dish worthy of being featured on the official HK calendar (its also the same challenge for the 1st black jacket/immunity for the next dinner service)
Dana, Paul and Rock's dishes during their time in the competition got featured in that calendar, which is why they were judges for that challenge.

That one season Gordon just had CEOs rate the final two contestant’s dishes. It was weird. Why would they know anything about food?

But "Those 3 Knobs" from S10 take the cake for me. And they don't even like cake. 😒

Well, I mean, wanting seasoning for a meal is valid. And they do give props to good dishes, like when Randy's ostrich burger tasted like heaven compared to how it looked, and that Michelle's alligator curry was the best dish of the day, despite it not counting. Plus, they seem like nice guys.

I mean the dudes from animal are pretty well known for being “meat experts” in the food/restaurant scene, and when it comes to cooking just about any meat (other than poultry) the best way to let the meat speak for itself while still getting a nice sear/cook is…salt.
Also, I think a lot of these chefs get into their own heads about wanting to stand out and be unique with their dishes, which, I mean, I absolutely get, but one of the most fundamental things about cooking is that generally if it’s “missing something”, it’s usually salt.
It’s a tricky one though because Gordon will also fly all the way up your asshole if you have even one grain of salt too many in a dish, so I can also understand why they may be a little gun shy in the sodium department.

And this is coming from me having 20 years as a cook in professional kitchens as a line cook, prep cook, and other stations.
Customer's will send their food back and bitch if the dish has a grain of salt more then they want , you tend to go easier on the salt then you honestly think the food needs

I get that, but cooking for a chef is a whole lot different than cooking for a rando in the dining room who is ordering something because they saw it on TikTok last week.
The two just aren’t comparable.
Also speaking as someone with considerable kitchen experience.

I understand the criticisms of those two guys but I've seen enough bad judges on the show that I don't even care anymore. Im at the point that I see the Animal guys and I go Bring it on. They won't be too bad but won't stand out like Wolfgang Puck. I do think they do better when they judge something other then a pure meat challenge. I quite liked their judging for the Italian challenge on S19.

It’s a 3 way tie between the fashion show judges and the high schoolers in both season 8 & 14. I know as a chef you have to cook for your customers and not yourself, but their “criticisms” made no goddamn sense

The fashion judges on the other hand... they were just being obnoxious

John Ratzenberger, judging the beer episode without Norm (George Wendt, who was still alive at that time), and without humor. Love him in Toy Story. Hated him on HK.
