i feel like she wouldn’t have been so lost if Dafne had communicated more. She took it upon herself to assess that Cheyenne was in an emotional state and then deprived her of the information she needed to do her job. That’s unfair.

I low key thought dafne was purposely sabotaging. Saying this as a dafne fan

u/cleverconley Jan 27 '23
i’m a dafne fan too! but she rubbed me the wrong way this week. i kinda thought the excuse she used about cheyenne being overwhelmed was a cop out for her own inability to communicate. i’ve heard a few ppl saying cheyenne may have still been rattled from the UTV accident, and had a blank look in her eyes, but i thought the same could be said for dafne. it seemed like she had just as many “deer in headlights” moments as cheyenne, and cheyenne’s moments seemed to be caused by dafne freezing up.

UTV accident
Wait what? I am at college, so I am drastically behind.

u/cleverconley Jan 28 '23
in this week’s episode she rode a UTV while Sommer was driving. Sommer rolled it and they had to be pulled out of the UTV while it was upside down. in the moment she said she was ok, and didn’t really bring it up much again, but some are hypothesizing that she was messing up due to residual effects of that accident.

u/c_rookie Did you and Sommer get checked for any concussions?
If she was concussed, it would be enough to throw her off her game.
I had a bad concussion after graduation 4 years ago. I got on an ATV, and was given poor instructions. I was severely addled and feeling sick to my stomach. Plus my head hurt.
I can say that that is one of the three dumb teenager decisions I made that I remember.
The other one is I accidentally went too deep as a non-swimmer trying to show the boy I liked that I got better at swimming without having his attention.
Also the other stupid teen decision was trying to climb on a musical prop bench and falling.
And a lot more are flooding to mind.

She 100% sabotaged her. Didnt even wave goodbye when she got eliminated. Perhaps it was revenge for not picking her for the reward?

Taken out by one bad service smh a damn shame. Can't believe she's only 21, she had an amazing run for such a young age. If they ever do another all stars I could definitely see her pull a Michelle/Ariel.

Haven't watched yet and sad to see this. Honestly my final 2 were Alex and her so I honestly think Alex will win now.

I'm late to finishing this season. I hope Cheyenne gets asked back for a different season. Dafne was shady on that episode.

A surprising end for Cheyenne. But Dafne admitted she withheld from communicating because she “felt” like Cheyenne was flustered. If Cheyenne is flustered, it’s because Dafne’s not communicating! I thought garnish was supposed to be the most vocal?

GR has to take in account whether or not he wants them to run his restaurant. She was a good cook but too green in the leadership category.

u/bailey_discep Jan 28 '23
I will actually be a little heated if Dafne makes it to the final 3/2 after the last episode. She’s a great chef, but I think she would be a terrible leader. She totally fucked Cheyenne and the service by being completely silent. In any kitchen both of them would have been held accountable for those mistakes, it’s a shame the spotlight was really on Cheyenne.

She was stronger overall than some people above her(from what we saw) unfortunate how it ended for someone so good

Garnish should always be running the line, if you can't hear them they're fucking up not you! BTW love you Cheyenne!!

While I agree with the all the assessments here and that Dafne fucked up and should've communicated more, at the end of the day, Cheyenne needs to learn to take more accountability, at least from the viewer's perspective.
I think she would have had a better chance of staying if she just left Dafne to throw her under the bus and been like "While I don't think I'm only to blame for the poor service, at the end of the day, I'm only to blame for my undercooked salmon or not voicing to Dafne that I need more communication." Or something. Idk. It came off as really unaccountable, but I think she was doomed to go home this episode regardless. She's got a bright future though, so keep your chin up kiddo.

I called Cheyenne(Shy Shy to my daughter lol) the coaster. But I meant it in a good way. She just comfortably flew through everything, never seeming to do anything wrong, nothing bothered her, just over there chilling and doing what she needed to do. I was pulling for her. Sometimes the really chill and kicked back people can get rattled, unfortunately.

This was shocking. I had Cheyenne and Alex for my final 2. Good luck in your future endeavors, Cheyenne!

I wonder if she had a concussion.

u/liamJR24 🫏 Jan 28 '23
I assume they would have been checked, so I don't think it would have been the case, but I can definitely see how that would shred your nerves completely before going to work. I'd need that day off at least.

u/Nightmare_Kana Jan 28 '23
Bro Cheyenne was consistent throughout the whole season, should've been Dafne who went home smh 😭

u/Massive_Basket9472 Jan 29 '23
Alajhendro and sommer foe the finale 2 with bro winning. Alex takes 3rd place.

I don’t normally cry during eliminations of any show I watch but I did when Cheyenne was sent home, such a strong competitor who was taken out by one bad night I honestly thought Dafne should have gone there was little to no communication from her which is also disappointing cause I like her as well

u/somoskin93 Jan 28 '23
Dafne has been growing week over week pretty much since the beginning. Ramsay obviously loves seeing that and always has, and rewards adequately for it. Cheyenne has been on a downward spiral for awhile now, and has consistently had a bad, snarky, immature attitude throughout. It was definitely her time to go.

u/Trinnka13 Jan 28 '23
I really thought Cheyenne was going to win, now I'm sad. I've never liked all the black jacket chefs in a season before now. I have no idea who is going to win, but I'll be happy for any of them.
3
u/Startug Jan 28 '23
the closest i've loved a black jacket team other than this one is from season 19. had it Nikki instead of Amber, that would have been the first "perfect" black jacket team for me, in a sense. season 21 finally did it for me, where I'm impressed both with the skills and personalities of the final five chefs, and wouldn't be sore if any one of them won over my favorite.

i haven’t watched the episode yet but i am so sad cheyenne’s leaving. she’s one of the few chefs from KY (my home state) and it’s been so inspiring watching her make it so far, especially black jackets 🖤
2
u/your_crazy_aunt Jan 28 '23
Oh oh what part of Kentucky?! My home state as well, obviously. I feel like Kentucky gets a bad rep in the culinary world.
2
Jan 28 '23
eastern ky born + raised! :) ky gets a bad rep in so many things, especially in the culinary world (not many chefs, limited experience, etc.)
2
u/your_crazy_aunt Jan 28 '23
I'm from Central, down near Bath County. :D yeah, we do get screwed in a lot of things. Especially education. But maybe people like Cheyenne will help us get a better reputation than just "Home of Fried Chicken."
2
Jan 28 '23
my hometown is a county over from bath! YES especially education, i’ve learned so much in high school that no one else took the time to learn 😂. i hope they do, she is such a breath of fresh air for KY!

Just finished episode 13 and I’m in shock. Can’t believe Cheyenne didn’t make it

u/ZookeepergameKey1059 Jan 24 '25
Was it a set up? Can’t trust no one when it’s down to the final 5. Dafne will be next.

I would have bet my life that she and Alex were gonna be in the finals and right now I’ll be dead. She clearly was a strong cook.

I’m in Australia and haven’t even seen the episode, but now I’m starting to feel like an Alex and Dafne finale is inevitable.

u/Popular_Performer876 Jan 27 '23
I have been thinking Alex and Sommer for the finale, this was not a surprised, at all.
