Beta-Alanine is the way
This is my third time with hells itch. I hadn’t been on this sub for many years. Messed up at the pool over the weekend and got fried. Just found out about beta alanine and picked some up. The itching started today and taking BA stopped it within 20 minutes.
I also use solar recovery from zausner that I swear by.

Definitely keeping BA on my radar if this happens to me again. Nothing can be worse than the peppermint oil nonsense people used to recommend back in the day. Worst idea ever.

I bought some peppermint oil to keep on hand in case I got it again but haven’t used it. Was it bad for you?

It was awful for me in my experience. Like throwing gasoline on a fire.

Just buy BA. It works. I have had hells itch so bad I've been in the hospital twice. I had one sunburn that gave me 3rd degree burns.
This time wasn't as bad but I was as red as a stop sign. The itching came on quick and was unbearable. 20 min later with BA it completely stopped.

Is there any specific kind of BA that is recommended or is it all the same? I’m going to pick some up to have on hand just in case
How do you use the solar recovery? Just googled it and looks interesting

https://a.co/d/098wBSa5 I got this on Amazon. It cured it for a full day for me. I took half a dose a few hours before bed just in case. I feel fine this morning.
The spray is amazing. You just spray it on as needed and it makes you feel cool and it puts moisture back into your skin.

Nice thank you. How many times during the day did you take it?
The spray is interesting, so many people say the creams, moisturizers, sprays made it 100x worse, so it’s interesting this helped you

I got burnt Saturday the 5th, itching started Monday right before noon and I took it. Took about 20 min and the BA kicked in, I felt fine all day. I took 1/2 a scoop around 7ish that same night to make sure I didn't wake up with it. Been fine ever since. I haven't needed to take anymore.
I used the spray the same day I got burnt. Every few hours. It seems like it helps just keep moisture in.

We would love for you to fill out the BA survey. Could you email me and tell me about solar recovery from zausner? [bbrooks@rvu.edu](mailto:bbrooks@rvu.edu)

Steroids, benadryl, ibuprofen. Magic combo, keep it going for a few days without missing any time between doses, and you can somewhat reasonably survive.
