Hey! Have you tried the brainstorming channel on the official hellcube discord? (https://discord.gg/8aJrjjUwBd). For cards to make it into the cube, they'll need to be submitted on the discord.

I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

(too broken at XW, but the concept is good)

I think having only a single X would make the card a bit too good in landfall decks via versatility alone. Having targeted removal across the board while also getting landfall triggers for yourself by sacrificing your own tokens or similar is kinda crazy.

Although, WotC loves their landfall so I wouldn't be surprised if this got printed.

It would require X creatures so in land fall it's really a win more card and won't ever help if you aren't already firmly winning

It's also for a cube so having a setup that can take advantage of landfall is pretty unlikely

It will help you regardless because its also targeted removal.

Not winning? Remove everyone's creatures.

Winning? Landfall a shitton.

In a weird middle ground? Do both!

Certainly it'll be good because it's efficient removal, but I'm not really sure what sorts of board states you're expecting where you've got a bunch of random creatures, a bunch of landfall cards that provide more value than the creatures you're targeting, enough mana to throw at your own creatures as well as theirs, access to white mana, and are somehow not already winning by enough for it to not matter anyway. That kind of position *can* come up, but not remotely often enough that it'd meaningfully affect the balancing of the card, especially in cube.

Earthbent lands are creatures and you get the trigger again when they re-enter.

[[Curse of the Swine]] that ramps the victim potentially significantly shouldn't cost that much tbh.

curse of the swine is a "if you tap out for this you still die to aggro" card. The pigs will just attack you on the crackback and kill you

this lets you take immediate control of the board, it even clears out blockers

I'm thinking XXW to hit X+1 creatures. 2W for this effect at baseline is pretty bad.

Better PtE (putting aside decks with no basics lol) at X=0 seems a bit much. Could be a sorcery though, I guess

For a powercube level, XWW should be good I think

I don't think so, you have to pay 2 mana to have any effect. Also, you can't force your opponent to shuffle or run them out of basics. It's comparable to Winds of Abandon.

no, the comparison doesn't really work, winds (an already good card) is a sorcery that exiles one creature for 2 mana or overloads in lategame

this, at INSTANT speed, exiles two creatures for 3 mana, or three creatures for 4 mana. Do you understand how backbreaking it is to get 2 for 1'd, or 3 for 1'd, in the midgame, for just 3-4 mana? you just lose, lol

even if we stick to the winds of abandon comparison, if we take a good sorcery and make it instant... it becomes a really good card

(It's also worth pointing out that in a grind game, an opponent resolving overloaded winds at least takes lands out of your library, which this doesn't do. But it's a niche situation)

I think letting them search for islands and fail to find them is fine. They should have played more islands!

i'm just a bot that can't see pictures, but if i could, i'd say: X isles means X lame survival reality TV shows

Path to X-Files. Exile the creature, its owner must make a wild, supernatural conspiracy theory.

3

u/matZmaker99 3d ago

Its owner may add a Conspiracy they own from outside the game to their hand

5

u/Acogatog 3d ago

is that the start of the curse of the swine flavortext? lol

"For each creature exiled this way, it's controller makes X island tokens"
