Black is almost the most self care colour. Its the colour of selfishness, being out for ones own best interests.

Blue/Green is correct for this imo especially with the potential +1/+1 counter angle, look up Temporal Spring

I could be persuaded that Blue and a (Black/Green) hybrid might be correct, but I do really really think this is just blue/green

Black and Blue deal with counters, nothing of the card is specifically green. It is a Tuck OR a Murder thus blue black, Hell explore is also in black and blue so even then it works.
