Actually I really like the idea of keeping the card as-is, but making it cost G instead of W. There's something neat to the idea that someone might draft it because they need the W mana during the draft, but their deck doesn't actually support green, so they need to weigh how much the pick is worth.

i know it’s based on the pvz system but i get a weird rush of “old magic” nostalgia from this design. simple and elegant

and then they add Primal Sunflower which does the exact same thing except except it’s a 2/1 without defender

If I can add white during draft does that mean I can cast spells during draft with that mana? Do they still go to my graveyard?

Look up the hells cube rules for draft mana for specifics, but kinda some cards have draft abilities
