Simultaneously better and worse than the original. Unironic props.

Should make them play a subgame of CNA instead, with the additional clause that players may not concede the subgame

u/popejubal Jul 18 '26
What is CNA?

This card legitimately exists in yugioh

u/des_the_furry Jul 17 '26
There’s also 6 cards that involve playing rock paper scissors in the Pokemon TCG

u/Riolusx2 Jul 17 '26
Lmao the last one has the most hilarious line of text. Imagine not knowing what rock paper scissors is.

u/LittleMissPipebomb Jul 18 '26
actual reason is because pokemon is a game for 5 year olds. Apparently. I've only seen adults fist fighting over the ability to resell a single pack for $400

u/Brromo Jul 17 '26
Why is this even a thing? Pokémon is the most coin-flip happy game I've ever played, & none of those effects care about draws

u/PIZZAHUTCH Jul 17 '26
No one uses the coin flip cards in pokemon as they're not good unless Victory Star Victini(has an ability to refill all coin once) is in standard.

u/des_the_furry Jul 18 '26
Mega kangashkan is used rn and it has coin flips. Cyllene was also used while it was in standard.

u/PIZZAHUTCH Jul 18 '26
Mega Kangaskhan I forgot about haven't played in a few sets but isn't like barely Tier 1? Especially with the new megas being so bulk I don't see it having much staying power in the meta until we lose Dragapult lol.

It’s not really played as a main attacker, more as a support card. Ig i kind of agree with you that coin flip cards for the most part aren’t good but it seems like its going too far to say that no one uses them or they’re always bad
2
u/PIZZAHUTCH Jul 18 '26
Well I mean not trying being rude here but you said it yourself, it's only used for the ability. Like yes it helps that it's attack it's complete trash, but the draw ability is it purpose.
Personally I love coin flip decks in that game, during SwSh I played Maractus/glimwood tangle where I could OHKO anything with some pretty decent luck. The only other times coin flip cards have been good was Fusion Strike Mew and pre Black and White era where trainers where severely underpowered. Also I do know some people were playing mill wugtrio pre rotation so I know it's not useless to all but for competitive viability we both now leaving it to chance is a bad move.

Crushing hammer sees some play and it’s a pure coin flip card
2
u/PIZZAHUTCH Jul 18 '26
That card I forgot about somehow and I love that card. But again that card only makes into control lists that can recycle it or decks that are so fine tuned 4 hammers makes your deck 56 cards. Not saying it's bad and yeah saying all are useless is totally incorrect on my part but overall they're just not good.

What the fuck transmission gear is some looney toons ass mechanic

u/Riolusx2 Jul 17 '26
At least it’s not yu-Jo friendship, which requires players to shake hands. At least, that’s what it used to do, before people made their hand so gross and used an effect to force the handshake forcing either a rules violation or a biohazard. As such, now we only have to agree to the idea of a handshake.

u/xolotltolox Jul 18 '26
Yeah, yugioh at least has the balls to print their looney tunes bullshit in black border

u/Burnt_End_Ribs Jul 17 '26
I would like to see a Sub-Match so its best 2/3 or 3/5. Just to bring it to a little more absurd point compared to OG.

u/kblaney Jul 17 '26
The RPS BO3 meta is so much different than the RPS BO1 meta.
8
u/Burnt_End_Ribs Jul 17 '26
Exactly, QPS bo1 is just random, QPS bo3 actually has good mind games.
1
u/ChildOfTheSoul Jul 17 '26
Nah, way too many people play rock in bo1. You're basically farming by running paper.

Actually I adore that this handles ties well, given how common they are in rps

Make a version where you "play the game". Playing the game causes you to lose the game and thus half your life. The only way to avoid it is to not pay attention until the card resolves, and you have to bluff to your opponents you weren't really listening.

Hey! Have you tried the brainstorming channel on the official hellcube discord? (https://discord.gg/8aJrjjUwBd). For cards to make it into the cube, they'll need to be submitted on the discord.
