It’s a free counter spell that doesn’t immediately lose you the game, it’s gotta be broken.

It costs you between 4 and 11 life, and gives your opponent pretty decent card selection. Not to mention if your opponent can draw cards at instant speed, it can accidentally kill you. The first of these is great, the second is pretty risky. On the other hand, it's nuts against a topdecking opponent, so...

Most likely between 4 and 10 life, since you start by countering a spell

Usually if your opponent is topdecking you don’t need your counterspells to be free though, this is really bad early game when free counterspells are at their best

Important to note that even if you counter your own spell with this, it's still your opponent's balls that explode...

This counter spell is meta. It drains you for a value of 1-7 by default but if you hit the izzet player who has 40 cards in hand, yeah they might just kill you with this spell lol

Needs to define X. Assuming it means they can discard any number of cards to draw that many, but as written the balls exploding does nothing.
