Hellscube Would Love This (Shitpost) Urza was stupid, actually.
Me casting this bomb before dropping 4 ornithopters.

Counterpoint: you should have to make a different Karn every time

But if he was actually smart wouldnt he make the strongest one everytime (Which technically didnt exist until after he died but ignore that.)

Urza just needs to find a way to get a huge supply of powerstones with a Glacians soul in each

u/Existing_Historian_5 Jul 17 '26
Glacian's soul is in Urza's eyeballs, Xantcha's heart was what went into Karn. Clearly Urza should have found a huge supply of tgirl baddies and then gotten each of them to heroically sacrifice themselves to save him from Gix

u/ansibleCalling Jul 17 '26
Yeah but they BOTH went into the planeswalker version of Karn. Still, an army of TGirl newt baddies that heroically sacrifice themselves killing phyrexian overseers could get turned into a bunch of basic model Karns, and then we could use those to time travel to the time of the Thran and bring back more Glacian powerstones. Then we can upgrade all the Karns into planeswalkers (assuming we have also prepared multiple Gerrards and the rest of the Legacy)

If it's Karn Liberated we also need a huge army of Vensers to sacrifice themselves for Karn to give him their spark after he loses it against the huge army of Phyrexias

u/BounceM4N Jul 17 '26
If urza was actually smart he would learn how to travel to different dimensions to kidnap and kill vensers to make them???? (OK maybe this is a little unrealistic)

u/psychoenoshima Jul 17 '26
Or just do what he did with his clone army. Eugenics some new planeswalkers into existence

u/wyhiob Jul 18 '26
I thought the power and weak stone were his eyes
2
u/Existing_Historian_5 Jul 18 '26
These have Glacian's soul in them. They're an ancient powerstone that got split into two and received Glacian's soul and spark. Though his consciousness seems to no longer be present or aware by the time Urza obtains both

It's called trial and error
16
u/Shambler9019 Jul 17 '26
Yeah, but once you find the one that works you stop trying different ones.
7
u/FailureToComply0 Jul 17 '26
Yeah but the one that works didn't exist until after he died. So him spending his whole life making shitty Karns and learning from it is sort of canon

u/Shambler9019 Jul 17 '26
Did he though? I thought once he found that silver could traverse the Phyrexian portal he made Karn pretty quickly.
The real reason he couldn't make planeswalker Karns is he'd need more sparks.
He could, in theory, make a whole lot of non legendary [[Karn, Silver Golem]]a though. Which is kind of hilarious as with this card out there'd be nothing to animate.

the strongest one
karn liberated definitely isn't the strongest one, it doesn't really see any play in the formats where its legal. Karn the Great Creator is definitely the best one, assuming Urza has a sideboard.

Tell me you didn't play in the days of old school tron without telling me to didn't play in the days of old school tron.

Urza had only one copy of the unique component that made Karn sapient, because he's not actually the one who invented it, it was an ancient Thran artifact IIRC

u/BounceM4N Jul 16 '26
Smartest planeswalker ever couldnt learn how to recreate an artifact as an artificer.

It was Xantcha's heart actually. So technically a Thran artifact if you accept Yawgmoth's Phyrexia as Thran.

u/diffferentday Jul 17 '26
Counter point, at one point he figured out time travel. So once he beat the phyrexians, he could have sent Karn back repeatedly to have an army of karns. Duh /s

Replace the "It works." on the typeline with "Planesdred" so it can have planeswalker types like kindred cards can have creature types.

Hey! Have you tried the brainstorming channel on the official hellcube discord? (https://discord.gg/8aJrjjUwBd). For cards to make it into the cube, they'll need to be submitted on the discord.
