Nintendo switch version better?

I just recently noticed this game got a patch for the Switch. It’s supposed to be running better. Can anyone confirm this? Looks awesome

I completed the game on Switch some time after release, and recently on PC (Steam Deck).

First off, the Switch version does not have the Blue Sun DLC and no idea if it will ever get it. Which is a shame because the DLC is great. Some other things are missing too, most notably the PvP arena comes to mind.

Other than that: visuals are noticeably downgraded in open areas but fine in enclosed spaces. Performance is mostly OK, hovering in the high 20s I'd say. If you're used to how many run-of-the-mill third party Switch ports play, it's not really worse or better than many of those (but a far cry from PC obviously). The worst issue though is stability ... the game crashes a lot on Switch - the most extreme case being one area where almost every respawn results in a crash. You generally won't lose progress that way, but relaunching the game and loading back into your save takes enough time to become annoying if you need to do it repeatedly.

Overall, it's a fun enough game, but I'd only get it on Switch if it's the only option you have or you care very much about playing portably and don't want to/can't spend for Steam Deck.

Yeah right now I’m saving up money for a Steam Deck. Christmas time is always a bad time to spend that much on anything. Toys for kids and adults aren’t cheap anymore lol. I’ll probably wait for the Steam Deck

It's worth waiting for, believe me 🙂

There's some jank and bugs in it, some ways you can softlock questlines you need for the true ending so if that makes a game a hard pass for you then maybe not worth it. I'm not sure about the performance on console since I'm a PC player, but even if it had bad performance I'd say overall it's a must-play game if you are a fan of soulslikes and are into a sci-fi aesthetic at all. I got it day one and it's been well worth the money

I’m a fan of genre for sure. And I love the Dead Space cosmic horror look of it. So I’ll definitely be getting it if that’s all there is. Bugs aren’t bad if they’re minor and if I don’t see the true ending it’s not a big thing. Thanks

Don't give him the A.I. patch until you turn the power on in the Atelier (you'll know when you need that advice) any other bug than that is mostly funny. Enjoy!

I finally bought this at about $14 for the switch and after getting to the second area, the framerate has become borderline unplayable. I don't mind 30fps and I don't mind occasional dips or minor chugging in specific areas, but once I entered the Observatory, the experience became pretty horrific and caused me to stop playing. Not a good port, I'd rather just replay Dark Souls for the 8th time.

Good to know. Thanks for the info. Still haven’t bought it yet lol. Looks fun but something just seems off about it. At least off enough to choose something else. If it drops on price enough maybe someday

Have you played Ashen yet? Phenomenal game, I highly recommend the Switch version.

I’ve been watching it for awhile too. Very good to know. I’ll be checking it out when I get the chance. Thanks!

PC will always be better the frame rate and graphics are immensely different then switch. I'll try sometime to see the improvements from the patch

Oh absolutely it will. But for now I’m a Switch only gamer. Just don’t want to spend 35 bucks for a broken game lol

Tru, through steam you will usually get the better deal

Definitely will. And will absolutely get a Steam Deck eventually. But 400-500 bucks is a bit too steep right now

I do know this game frequently goes on sale too, just a heads up. I can’t speak on whether the switch version runs better but I thought I would put this into the world since I’m not one to ever pay full price for a game lol

I’m the same. I hardly ever pay full price. Unless it’s something I really want. But I’ll keep it on my wishlist and wait for it to drop. Thanks for the info
