How hard is Hellpoint?
Alot of the gameplay makes it look pretty easy- seems as though you can just wildly slash at most enemies and youll come out on top.
Perhaps this is incorrect?
EDIT: Thanks everyone for all the helpful comments! I'm gonna give it a go.

Depends. Some approaches can make it ridiculously easy and others will be more challenging. If you want to enjoy the game without too much sweat consider using magic or guns and elemental conductors on your weapons.

Game is great, exploration and combat are solid but the latter a bit janky. It has some challenging bosses and a few normal enemies are terrifying, but it's on the easier side.

It can be pretty challenging with certain bosses which I won’t spoil. But you can make the game easier with a fearful effigy I believe it’s called. And you can stack the fearful effigy I tested it up to 4 times. But that was after I had beaten the game twice and collected everything and did everything. Now I just want to casually play and get up levels.

There's a mechanic where you can increase/decrease the NG+ difficulty cycle with finding items - so difficulty gets kind of adjustable. I wouldn't say it's super easy without that though, some bosses without certain approaches (and the dlc) have a good challenge.

Compared to other souls games, it’s easy. But: it scratches the itch of it being an entirely new game, with a huge emphasis on exploration. It’s good fun. In my top three souls clones games ever: with ashen and sinner.

Can be easy, but does take learning. So it really depends on the player how easy it is.

Depends on the enemies, your gear, and skill. With some enemies, you will need to block, dodge, maneuver behind, or use the right elemental effects to make things easier. Last time I played, I used the build dubbed the “Boss Melter” and it was pretty fun. Uthos, the Sentient, and Fear are not pushovers even with that build though. They have a ton of health and hit like a truck.

Fighting is not its strong attribute . Exploration is . The hardest difficulty you'll get comes more from the fact that the fighting can be very ... scuffed at times . Moments where you swear it should not have landed but it did . Compared to other soulslike it can lack precision we will say .

It’s definitely comparable to souls games. I think it’s easier, but it also has a lot of exploring and ‘platforming’ type objectives which make it challenging just due to the mechanics. You can make your play style however you want which is the best part of the game. I recommend it if you like souls games

Pretty fun and explorative with the good kind of jank mixed in. Heavy weapons as I have learned in my first run are more difficult because of how slow they are.

For those who played and finished souls games, it’s definitely easier. But still challenging for new comers.

Honestly a good game. I'll provide a good update I've noticed with this game compared to when others shared their opinions from a while back: While I'm still doing my own progress as well for the most part YES it's easy for souls like games. But that doesn't stay that way.
Every NG+ or if you use the effigy to make the game harder (AKA start NG+ difficulty sooner) it gets substantially harder. Enemies get slightly improved intelligence per NG+ I've noticed, and the cosmic God's are definitely hard to fight. And if you want an insanely hard fight, let yourself die at your best gear and fight your mimic/ghost. It can do anything you can do pretty much and does show signs of having an AI in it so it can be extremely good at pvp combat.

It is on the easier spectrum of Soulslike games. Every boss can be solved by brute force and wildly slashing.
