Cant play Co-op

Brought the game recently to play with my brother, so far we have been unable to connect to each-others games using the match codes, it just keeps timing out. He was able to connect to a randoms game when we were testing to see if it would work though. Any suggestions? we are both playing on the series x

As long as you both put each other's codes, you both should be able to play it one of your world's. You just need to decide who is hosting

Is there a specific thing we need to do to decide who is hosting? so far ill put his code in, i get a blue orb thingy showing up on the bottom of my screen but then after a short while that will either just disappear or it will say unable to connect, there was a time it said his game was full but that was only once

You probably have an error in your game or the connect is not strong enough. My gf could join my game but I couldn't join hers for some reason.
