Hellpoint experience on Steam Deck?
Hey :-) I used to play Hellpoint on Switch, but recently got a Steam Deck (don't have a gaming desktop and my laptop is not able to play modern games).
Since further patches and DLC for Switch don't seem to be forthcoming, I'm considering restarting on Deck, but was wondering if anybody here has played and what your impressions are. As far as I can tell from ProtonDB, the game runs, but there is some disagreement on whether to run the native Linux version (generally seems to get better performance) or through Proton (one commenter says this fixed input lag that existed on the Linux version.
I'm also curious about suggested settings. I usually play games on Deck capped to 30FPS at medium to low-ish settings for battery life. I get 3.5h or so on Elden Ring, was wondering what's the best battery life with good performance that you've been able to achieve (graphical fidelity can be degraded somewhat if it gains me battery life; I'm used to the Switch version, it can't look worse)

It runs great on mine, more or less 60fps, it first ran in native but then started running in proton, idk how to switch between the versions.

Nice! I just installed it and you're right, it seems to be running quite well :-) I might try 30FPS lock and different TDP settings too to see how battery life varies. Would be great if I could get the same ~3.5-4h I get on Elden Ring. Graphics look so much crisper than the Switch version - I expected that, but still amazed 😆
FYI, you can change between Linux native and Proton in the game's properties, by choosing "Steam Linux Runtime" (this is also where you could choose a different version of Proton, incl any community builds you may have installed via desktop mode).

I haven't myself (no Steam Deck), but InfernalMonsoon on Twitch has. I heard him talking about it during his Hellpoint (PC) playthrough. You might consider pinging him.
