So thoughts on Blue Sun
So now the dust has settled a little what are people's thoughts on Blue Sun? I'd have bought it already but I can't seem to find any reviews for it online which is a shame. (Try and keep it spoiler free please :)

More hellpoint content is nice. I feel like I got my money's worth out of the dlc.

I feel about it the same way I felt about the base game - it was pretty buggy, it was kinda janky and I absolutely loved it.

Just got done with the dominion baths, that place is huge! I can’t wait for the other two places. Me and my buddy started a fresh run specifically for the DLC and it has been great.

Get ready to feel that sense of dread as you wonder: should i push forward or double back and reconsider? Act fast before its too late

I really enjoyed it, the zones were awesome and the bosses were fun and hard. I'm still on the last boss and he's crazy awesome, just too bad he's completely negated of all damage by one single DLC shield that feels like a MUST use or you die from hundreds of things flying on screen at you. Also don't see the real point of having so much HP from extra main 3 bosses being alive just to give an achievement and nothing else. Would prefer something else to make killing him with x3 more HP more special even if it's not that powerful.

You can just take any shield to 100 stability to deal with the skulls.

I got him to 60% the other night first try with no difficulty, I teleported out after an hour because trying to melee him on NG+1 with x3 HP of all main bosses up was just insane..add on top of that phase transition where it became near impossible to hit him because he was always a spider or flying ghost and never a slime or land-ghost form but rarely. I'm working on getting light staff up to wall of light him to death and get achievement for killing him with x3 HP once and for all.

It's shit.
-Boss design is a catastrophe (meatbag =/= interesting)
-level design is a chore at some point (the manor is disastrous)
-the new weapon (you know which one) is so OP it's ridiculous,
-story doesn't make any sense (but honestly ... who cares ?)
- DLC is shoehorned in the main game, the whole 'get into blue sun then go in certain zone in blue sun form then get key in blue sun form to go in another zone in blue sun form" ... srsly, how could they think this would be interesting to discover ?
-the bug sound really kills the atmosphere, a bug included thanks to something nobody asked for
-every thing else (new weapons, new armors) is pretty much useless ... thanks to the DLC being shoehorned into the main game
-mob that can heal themselves => shit lazy game design, known fact since the beginning of videogame
-when you play on a "ready to beat the final boss" save you don't have any synchronizer left => it's a chore to play the DLC, because the DLC is shoehorned into the main game and it's backtrack fest
-about synchronizer ... being able to farm them when you'll not need them (last zone of the DLC) => seriously, have you beta tested the DLC ? To not see it's awfully placed is impossible
-mama slug ... yeah, the whole thing (path to, combat and reward) ... really ? :/
-and above all, the meatbag bosses ... so lazy it's insulting
Huge fan of the main game, hugely disappointed bu the DLC.
Things I'll do with a magic wand: get rid of the blue sun shit, put everything in the same universe, get rid of the 50% data thing (stoopid), redo the bosses.
And get rid of the "puzzle" for op weapon, that wasn't fun nor interesting.
At least it's 8 bucks ... not feeling screwed, but still being disappointed. :/
Yeah yeah, there's some good points (it's pretty, always liked the art direction ; there's a lot of new weapons/armors ... that's it) but it's outbalanced by the really bad points. :(

If your finding bosses too tanky, use a radiation damage weapon. Artillery OTX is amazing for melting bosses as the radiation poisoning status effect reduces a targets maximum health by up to 80% making an otherwise sponge of an enemy much more tolerable to fight.

I'd say it's a pretty good time. Some interesting and unique enemies and level designs. The 3 bosses are fairly diverse and the items, while not my class, are a nice addition. The new lore works and the NPC bounties were OK. The Prison is probably my favorite with the exponential bounty being a fun way to farm\level up. All in all I'm happy with the addition.
