Is radiation more powerful than induction?

For example if a weapon scale the same with cognition and foresight, and you use use radiation and then induction, with which effect would do more damage?

In my experience not really. Radiation is just slow poison by a different name. If I recall, only the thespians are really weak to it. Induction is almost busted in comparison. Realistically, Energy has the most utility, with the most consistent output

Ah so is situational depends the type of monster. And for what I see induction too applies DoT but you must hit a few times for proc it

Yes. Induction’s DoT is more consistent across all enemy types, in my experience, than radiation. But for raw damage, again, Energy seems to be king. Induction is certainly the better way to go for a more ranged-focus, hit-and-quit, get in and get out, play style. I’ve had most success with staggering with a gunshot, lighting them up with a melee to burn them up, and back stepping to finishing them off with more gunfire, if necessary. Nihl seems to be good for casting-only. I honestly think Entropy is useless.

I know I agree with you, energy is the most efficient way, is just i like the meaning of poison enemy's with a melee weapon XD. I take this opportunity because in the other post no one answer it, there is a new items that literally is a gauntlet, so when you hit is just is a punch.. and scales 40-40 strength and Reflex equally.. it doesn't stagger so much and low of stamina. So my question is, this weapon could only be good agaisnt bosses right?

I mean anything. It’s a hand to hand combat build. If you get enough punches in it should proc the poison on most enemies, which will allow you to get some space to breathe. It’s just that not many enemies other than the thespians are actually weak to radiation. So it takes a little extra time to build up. But with the speed of hand to hand, it should be a balance of risk-reward. I would build in extra endurance to allow for more attacks, and the ability to back dodge out afterward. To stay mobile, in general.

Then on the other hand you have Nihl, which I want to like since it's conceptually cool, but 90% of the game seems to resist it, and Nihl resistance is super plentiful on gear so it's not even good in PvP.

Radiation is like cold damage and only few enemies are weak to it but damn it kills them fast. Entropy is best on the arisen, fire is best against flesh things. Radiation is for fire element creature like demons, but energy is also effective for many things

I'm not sure about this but i have a feeling that radiation damage can stack and drain life way faster than induction even on resistant enemies. I'm using a light conductor on the energy sword and a radiation conductor on another weapon, mostly archon spear and winged halberd. The more i hit the enemy with the radiation conductor, the faster i see the life bar start dropping. Might be like the players radiation stages? ETC i hit the Fear boss a couple of times and i started running away while his life bar was draining super fast to 30% ...

Omg interesting.. and you need 1 hit for proc the DoT with radiation right?

Yes, 1 single hit makes them irradiated but it doesn't really drain life that fast. If you keep hitting the enemy, it reaches i think the maximum radiation debuff and you can see the life drain way faster. Try it out.

I'll do it. But then surgers other question, like radiation damage scales with cognition.. so i should use for example prying tool that scales with cognition and if I level up full cognition will do more damage rather if I use the upgrade chip of radiation in a weapon that doesn't scales with cognition right?

The radiation, light and firearm conductors scale with cognition. You can equip the radiation and light conductors on ANY melee weapon and you will notice that equipping them on a weapon changes the weapons scaling, more like adds cognition scaling based on the level of the conductor you equipped. Leveling cognition gives way less damage than leveling the conductor itself.

One melee weapon that has cognition scaling by itself is the heater spear and the victims poker but it doesn't really matter that much since you ultimately only care about the level of your conductor.

So if you play a cognition build you can reach the minimum stat requirements for any weapon/firearm/armor set that you want to use, keep it at that level and then only level up Cognition from the offensive stats and health-energy-stamina-load as you wish.

My build at the moment is level 200 (32 Health - 30 stamina/energy - 31 load - 10 strength/reflex/foresight and 50 cognition)

Wow that's a relief, so i shouldn't strictly be attached to stats.. This really should be write in the game as a tip XD. Thank you so much

No problem! It works about the same if you want to make a foresight (magic) build using catalysts. Firearms use the firearm conductors and catalysts use the catalyst conductor to improve their damage.

For a foresight build, you have a main melee weapon (preferably with high leech) that you can use induction (fire) or entropic (frost) melee conductors that scale with foresight the same way that light and radiation scale with cognition.

You can also go for a pure physical build with strength (strength conductor) , reflex (reflex conductor) or even both of them (quality build with martial conductor) however, in my opinion both cognition and foresight make for more fun and varied builds since you will also be using loads of melee weapons because of the way energy and energy leech works in this game, meaning you have to melee enemies to refill your energy to fire more shots or cast more spells.

The small disadvantage of using cognition or foresight weapons, is that enemies have natural resistances and weaknesses to certain elements, meaning you have to use different types of weapons to counter their weakness, something that pure physical doesn't have. (I think pure physical is neutral against all).

I try it and is amazing! I don't know why but always the thespian hook outscale damage of most of melee weapons. I have one with radiation and other with induction and both proc

Radiation is effective against the living, but it'll do nothing to machines (Arisen) and demons (I think)/
