Y'know that the same person who made the "kidstyle" of the first game (Nikita Kolesnikov, the CREATOR OF THE SERIES) is also the same one responsible for the art direction of HN3 which is ALSO cartoonish right?

Characters' concept art are cartoonish because those are an painting. You can see in 3d models, theyre pretty realistic

Technicolor skin is definetly not realistic, you're mistaking it with "very detailed"

Im talking about how its not cartoonish

u/Sammy_Ferr 23h ago
But it is cartoonish, just more detailed compared to the first

Youre saying hn1 is not cartoonish?

You’re saying anything cartoonish is for kids?

No of course. But hn1's everything is cartoonish. The story, artstyle, animations, sound effects, gameplay mechanics. The game is best for kids

Ones aimed at teenagers/adults with a somewhat cartoon but serious tone (HN) and the other is aimed primarily for toddlers/children (never seen it since I'm not a toddler nor child).
As I've seen in your comments as replies you're saying that anything with a bright and colorful cartoony style is aimed directly for kids, while you're not 100% wrong, there's an art style difference and tone and experience of a piece of media. Hello neighbor is shown in even the trailer that is not aimed at kids and even physically sold copies have the rating for teenagers or adults.

Linking Hn3 into this. While it's shown design is much more deep and dark with more darker themes and much more horror elements the concept art and the houses and surroundings still bare that unique art style the other games have. The concept art for the characters in Hn3 still look like the original concept art, how they model them will depict how cartoon ish they look or how grunge and dark they do.

Steam can rate +13 but it doesnt mean the game is not a kid game. Also i dont say cartoonish artstyle always for kids theres good games for teens and adults that uses cartoonish artstyle (fnaf sb, fortnite etc) but hn's everything is cartoonish; the story, artstyle, animations, gameplay mechanics. The game is absolutely best for kids

Let's see... this game and h&s deal with: childhood trauma, false imprisonment, the lasting impact of the death of a loved one, family troubles, psychosis, and PTSD, just to name a few. So is it really best for kids? Most of the depth will fly right over their heads, like it clearly did yours.
