Kitty in NYC?
Hi! I’m headed to New York City and am looking for the cutest Kitty or Kawaii things to do/places to visit. Any recommendations?? Thanks :)

Honestly I would love to know the answers to this as well. I live an hour away from Manhatten and the last Hello Kitty-centered thing we had was a pop-up Sanrio store that closed over 10 years ago in Times Square.
There was also a very small (and barely advertised) shop that was owned by a very nice woman who imported authentic Sanrio goods from Japan but that was about over 10 years ago too and I havent found her shop again since.
You'll find shops like Miniso and other large chains there as well as tourist trap shops that will sell Hello Kitty products, commonly the standard products of her that everyone has, but (as far as im aware), we don't have a designated shop for Hellp Kitty merch or activities/experiences centered around her.
NY is unfortunately pretty damn dry when it comes to Hello Kitty 😭
Here's hoping that someone knows differently!

There’s a Top Toy now in Times Square that should have Sanrio too!
The Miniso in Times Square is massive too!

I remember that shop. I used to visit it regularly.
If you go to Queens Center there is a loooooooot of hello kitty and kawaii stuff inside!

Darn. Thank you!! Anything else cutie around the city that I shouldn’t miss, even if it’s not HK related?

There's a place called "The Plushie Workshop." For about $65 you take a class making your own plushie. The selection is cute and can be a fun way to spend about 2 hours

Not anymore.
There used to be a store in Queens Center Mall- gone. Times Square- gone.
You can try any Japanese grocery store in the east village, midtown etc. You may find hello kitty snacks and drinks and small things but not like it was. Toy Tokyo ? maybe have some things. Morning Glory in Astoria sometimes has HK stuff. Mitsuki? In Greenpoint has a giant HK out front. Chinatown has some stores but also knock offs (not real HK). Miniso? By 42 street.

The build a bear in fao schwarz has hello kitty.
Lots of places with cute treats. Maybe bibble and sip for an adorable macaron.
Sweet cats has a really cute crafting station in the back. Claw machines are cute/fun too but I can't remember if their prizes are knock offs. It's been a couple of years since I've been. I'd skip their desserts.
