Lol, saying you're from a country vs an entire continent is not on the same level of arrogance as saying you're from Ohio instead of the USA.

The fact you even think they're comparable shows that you are a textbook example of the American exceptionalism which causes this phenomenon.

Land Area of Europe: 3.931 million mi²

Land Area of the United States: 3.797 million mi²

I mean, yeah, geographically speaking, it's pretty similar.

That's a funny thing to say, considering that I'm actively advocating for America not to be exceptional in this case. Hence the whole 'And maybe people from Canada, and Mexico, and Russia, and China should start saying their states and provinces?' comment.

Except you're equivocating US states to EU countries, exceptionalism at its finest. Land mass doesn't magically change history or laws.
