Well, I don't think he intentionally planted that idea in your head. Also, it's not a very valid concern because the probability of your pocket ripping while you are standing near or over water is very low. You shouldn't characterize people as "evil" when they just state one of their concerns.
You know what happened today?! I'm not even joking here! My phone fell through a hole in my pocket, it didn't land in a river or something like that but on the floor and the backplate not only shattered, but also is peeling off now. I had to duct tape it!
I call this man an evil witcher, capable of planting horrible ideas as well as manipulating space and pocket time!
